Step Forward's Financial Literacy Series is underway, but there's still time to join us before the next workshop.

Step Forward's Community Services team, in partnership with Central State University Extension, is offering practical, hands-on lessons to help you take control of your finances.

Topics include:
• Understanding your money values
• Managing income and expenses
• Tackling debt
• Banking basics
• Understanding your credit score
• Using credit wisely

At Step Forward, daily toothbrushing helps our Head Start children build healthy habits and prevent dental problems that can interfere with learning.

This Head Start Awareness Month, we're reminding our community why these simple routines matter, especially as proposed federal changes could eliminate daily toothbrushing requirements.

Last month, members of our Leadership Team and Board of Directors traveled to Washington, D.C. for two important opportunities to advocate on behalf of the communities we serve.

During the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Annual Legislative Conference and the National Head Start Association’s Fall Leadership Institute, they met with members of Ohio’s congressional delegation and their staff to discuss Community Action, Head Start and the programs that support children and families across Greater Cleveland.

Bringing the experiences of the people we serve to these conversations is an important part of our work.

⚠️ October Service Update

Step Forward’s Central Neighborhood Opportunity Center and HEAP office will be closed to the public during October, with staff working remotely. Services remain available.

▪️Community Services: (216) 357-2621
Central NOC appointments will be conducted virtually during October. Please call to schedule an appointment or inquire about services. Documents may be faxed with a cover sheet to (216) 516-0090. Our East and West NOC locations remain open for in-person assistance. The Central NOC will resume in-person operations November 2.

▪️HEAP: (216) 480-HEAP (4327)
The Summer Crisis Program ended September 30; the Winter Crisis Program begins November 1. Those who need to upload their required documents may do so through the online scheduling system or via fax with a cover page to (216) 516-0091.

All Head Start centers remain open as usual.
