This week we wrapped up the Built to Bloom program at Norma Herr. During the last 8 weeks women have created vision boards, reflected on challenges in their life and how they overcame them and discussed their short and long term goals. Through discussion, music and art we meditated on who God says we are and the peace we find in seeking Him.

Thank you also to for discussing resource needs with the ladies as well.

We look forward to serving the ladies again in the future at YWCA Greater Cleveland Norma Herr Women’s Center.

Reflecting back and sharing a favorite memory of the spring semester: our Calm Kids traveling to the Ubuntu Gathering Place to explore the meaning of Ubuntu—the belief that we are all connected and that our well-being is tied to one another.

As we walked through the beautiful murals, the children shared what they noticed, what the artwork meant to them, and how each painting told a story.

After reading The Story of the Fruit Game, we talked about an important question:

Can you really be happy if everyone around you is hurting?

The children learned the importance of compassion and lifting up those around you. They discovered that making good choices means considering how their actions affect others.

This summer we will be partnering with Forever Giving to start a new program called Built to Bloom for women at YWCA Greater Cleveland Norma Herr Women's Center.

This faith-based program supports women in shelter as they heal, rebuild and step into a new chapter of their life. We are looking forward to bringing hope, emotional healing, mindfulness, scripture and prayer to the women.
