Center for Arts-Inspired Learning Transforming lives through arts-inspired learning! Our mission is simple: to ignite student learning, creativity, and success through the arts.

OUR MISSION
The Center for Arts-Inspired Learning ignites student learning, creativity, and success through the arts. OUR STORY
Since 1953, Center for Arts-Inspired Learning (formerly Young Audiences of Northeast Ohio) has served nearly 7 million students in 18 counties through arts education, and has reached even more through our advocacy efforts, professional development, and community programs. We effectively create innovative learning experiences–closing learning gaps, teaching creative thinking and problem solving, and helping students succeed in school, in their first jobs, and beyond. We work with 85 professional teaching artists, experts in their fields, to tie to curricular connections and socio-emotional themes, helping children in Grades PreK-12 learn through and with the arts. Arts education is what we do, and it’s the one place where you can do it all—dance, theater, music, digital arts, visual arts, on-location performances, workshops, residencies, and professional development. Plus, our experienced Education Staff can help customize all of our arts-programming.

Sculpture is in session at Garfield PreK-8 School 🎨

This school year, CAL Teaching Artist Shelly Svonavec is leading a sculpture residency with 6th through 8th graders, built to support Cleveland Metropolitan School District Career-Technical Education program. Over 37 hours across both semesters, students are building hands-on skills and seeing a creative career as a potential path forward.

That’s the power of a CAL partnership: a dedicated, professional teaching artist, programming built around your goals, and a creative space your students can count on.

Educators, school administrators, and youth development providers: let’s build something like this for your students. 🔗 arts-inspiredlearning.org/request-program-booking

This week, half of the CAL team spent an afternoon in the kitchen at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Ohio preparing a meal for families staying at the House and in the hospital Family Rooms. 💙

The Family Meal Program provides fresh, nutritious meals to families during an incredibly challenging time, helping take one more responsibility off their plate while they focus on their loved ones.

Our team had a great time working alongside the RMHC team and their chef, and we appreciated the chance to connect with an organization doing such important work for families across Northeast Ohio. As a local arts education nonprofit, we value opportunities to step outside of our day-to-day work, learn from other organizations, and contribute to the community we’re part of.

We’re looking forward to having the rest of our team join in later this month!

👉Ronald McDonald House NEO has many ways for individuals and groups to volunteer and support local families. If you’re interested in getting involved, visit their website to learn more about volunteer opportunities: https://www.rmhcneo.org/get-involved/

Yesterday, the CAL team spent the morning volunteering at the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation! 🪴💚 As part of our ongoing commitment to serving our community, our staff will be spending time alongside our partner organizations to lend a hand and give back.

We helped clean up the Gardens and get them ready for the 80th Annual One World Day. Thank you to the Cleveland Cultural Gardens for welcoming us, sharing the stories and histories behind the Gardens, and giving us the opportunity to be part of the work. We’re grateful for the experience and the chance to support such a wonderful community organization! 💙

Be sure to check out One World Day this Sunday, August 30! 🎉 With nearly 50 diverse ethnic groups represented through music, food, dance, storytelling, and more, it’s a wonderful celebration of culture and community.
