A Proud Moment for Famicos Foundation!

We are honored to announce that we have received the 2026 Joyce Barrett Preservation Hero Award from Heritage Ohio, recognizing more than five decades of dedication to historic preservation, neighborhood revitalization, and community development throughout Cleveland!

The award was presented on September 30 during Heritage Ohio's annual awards ceremony at the historic Woodward Theatre in Cincinnati.

“​​This recognition reflects the dedication of our staff, residents, and community partners who continue to help us build stronger, more vibrant neighborhoods for generations to come,” said Carolyn Dawson, Chief Operating Officer of Famicos Foundation, who accepted the award on behalf of the organization.

Celebrating Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Community Impact!

We are so proud to announce Jeremy McBryde, founder of Comfort Cle, as the recipient of our 2026 Outstanding Small Business Award at our upcoming annual fundraiser, Beyond the Front Door: Opportunities for Building Resilient Neighborhoods.

Jeremy is a Cleveland native with more than 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry and has built a career that extends far beyond the kitchen. From launching Comfort LA in Los Angeles to bringing the concept home to Cleveland through Comfort CLE, his entrepreneurial journey has centered on three things: Good Food. Community. Culture.

His culinary expertise has reached national audiences through partnerships and experiences involving ESPN, HBO, Hulu, Coachella, and notable clients including LeBron James and Kevin Hart. He has also appeared on Food Network programs, including Beachside Brawls and Supermarket Stakeout.

But what makes Jeremy's work especially meaningful is his commitment to using entrepreneurship as a tool for neighborhood revitalization. As founder of Flava Neighbor, he is helping create opportunities through food, education, economic development, and community-centered experiences.

Jeremy's journey reflects what Famicos Foundation believes: Strong neighborhoods are built not only through housing and investment, but also through the people, businesses, and opportunities that bring communities together.

This summer has been filled with programs, memorable moments, excitement and community engagement!

This week, Hawken School students joined our senior residents for Generations in Motion, a meaningful intergenerational experience focused on connection, teamwork and community.

Students and seniors shared plenty of laughs over Chair Hockey and Name That Tune, while also giving back by creating thank-you and birthday cards for residents and assembling activity bags for homebound seniors who were unable to participate.

More than just a day of fun, Generations in Motion created an opportunity for our seniors to share their experiences and build new relationships, while students learned from another generation through service, conversation and play.

It was a wonderful reminder that community grows stronger when generations come together.
