Cleveland Sight Center has GoodMaps available for all visitors to use independently, thanks to our partnership with Volk Optical. This navigational app was designed by people who are blind and have low-vision, for the blind and visually impaired community. Anyone can use the app to navigate our building!

Here's how it works:
The app helps users navigate with audio directions
Users follow the turn-by-turn guidance on their phone
Users find their destination (could be anywhere in CSC's building!)
CSC updates maps in real time as the building evolves

What do pumpkins, ponies, chickens and story time all have in common? They'll all be at CSC's Family Fall Festival coming up on October 15! The Global Braille Survey from Braille Authority for North America is open, and looking for the blind and visually impaired community's insight. This survey provides an opportunity for people around the world to share their experiences and perspectives on braille literacy.
Participants must fall under these categories:
- Adults aged 18 years and over who are blind, have low vision, or are deafblind
- Parents and guardians of children any age who are blind, have low vision, or are deafblind
- Teachers and other professionals involved in braille education
- Braille transcribers

Industry giants in the video game world are making inclusive steps to make sure everyone can enjoy their games in the future, while more tactile games are often adapted by players themselves to level the playing field.

Gamers with visual or motor impairments are increasingly creating their own ways to keep playing as industry giants Microsoft, Sony and ONCE roll out adapted controllers alongside new video and board games.

We're pleased to announce that Dr. Bryan Wolynski has been appointed as Cleveland Sight Center's next President and Chief Executive Officer, effective November 1, 2026!

A nonprofit executive, optometrist and subject-matter expert in vision rehabilitation and assistive technology, Dr. Wolynski currently serves as CSC's Chief of Vision Rehabilitation. He brings over 20 years of experience in building innovative programs, leading multidisciplinary services, developing strategic partnerships and advancing solutions that help people who are blind or have low vision live more independently.

“I am honored and humbled by the opportunity to lead Cleveland Sight Center,” said Dr. Wolynski. “CSC has a remarkable history, an extraordinary team and a mission that has never been more important. I have had the privilege of experiencing this organization from the inside and seeing firsthand the difference our employees make in the lives of the people we serve.”

He continued, “I believe our greatest opportunities will come from building on our strengths, listening closely to the people we serve, strengthening partnerships across our community and beyond and continuing to embrace innovation. Together, we can ensure that people who are blind or have low vision have the opportunity, resources and support to live the lives they choose.”

Current President and CEO Larry Benders will continue to serve through his planned retirement on December 31, 2026, providing a transition period as Dr. Wolynski assumes his new position. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Wolynski into his new role!
