Our charming old buildings with 25 apartments can always use the skills of someone handy! Minor household plumbing, electrical, or carpentry skills are always needed.

Here are the core maintenance services needed:

🎨 Apartment turnovers: Quick repairs, painting, and touch-ups between guest stays
🛠️ General handyman tasks: Fixing stubborn doors, leaky faucets, and light fixtures
🌳 Grounds and facility care: Keeping walkways safe, clean, and accessible.
🚰 Preventative checks: Routine inspections to stop property issues before they start.

A big thank you to the Liver Transplant Team at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation for preparing last night’s dinner: pasta bake, sausage and kale with sun dried tomato, garlic bread, and dessert. It was a big hit!

These Wednesday dinners are a meaningful part of life at Transplant House. They give transplant patients and caregivers an opportunity to step away from the stress of appointments and share a meal with others who understand what they’re going through. Around the dinner table, guests can reflect on shared experiences, offer advice and encouragement, and build friendships that last long after they return home.

We are always impressed by our dinner volunteers, who prepare meals for around 30 transplant patients and caregivers each week. Guests can gather in our community space or pack up dinner to enjoy later. After a long day at the hospital, returning to the House with a home-cooked meal waiting can make a world of difference.

Thank you to the Liver Transplant Team for showing up for our guests and helping Transplant House feel like home. Your generosity provides more than a nourishing meal–it creates moments of comfort, community, and friendship.

Our Autumn in the Garden fundraiser on Thursday, October 8 from 5–8PM at Transplant House allows us to keep nightly room rates low, helps cover programming costs, and provides additional amenities at no cost to our guests.

For transplant patients and caregivers coming from out of town, often after leaving their jobs, friends, and homes, our affordable lodging and supportive programming help ease financial and emotional stress.

National Dog Day is today, and we’re celebrating Benson, our resident golden retriever and an integral part of life at Transplant House! 🐾

Benson’s favorite pastime is spreading joy to both transplant patients and caregivers, greeting everyone with a tail wag and boundless affection. His easygoing and caring nature bring comfort to our guests and help make Transplant House feel even more like home.

When he’s not busy brightening someone’s day, you might find Benson helping with landscaping (searching for food in the leaves), supervising the grill, or lending a paw with projects around the House–including helping set up our new shed!

If you see Benson around, be sure to say hello. He’ll be more than happy to greet you! 🧡
