Cville TimeBank

Cville TimeBank We all have something we need. We all have something to offer. We are creating community one hour at a time. That hour goes into the TimeBank as a Time Credit.

We are a community of individuals who invest in ourselves and each other through reciprocity and exchanging time and service. Timebanking is simply about spending an hour or two or three doing something for somebody in your community. No money is ever exchanged. Then you have a Time Credit to spend on having someone do something for you. It's a simple idea, but it has powerful ripple effects. You

are helping someone who may not have funds needed to get a certain job done; you're helping to build community connections, and you can more easily find someone to do something you would like to have done. You work with a small group of committed individuals who are joined together for a common good. Timebanking is an alternative monetary system based on circles of giving and receiving. It’s based on the principle that we are all assets, and that we all have something to give. Cville TimeBank is a project of the 2012 class of Charlottesville's Neighborhood Leadership Institute - "LIKE" the page to follow developments. The Cville TimeBank is up and running ~ Come to a 'coffee chat'/orientation session and get started! Instead of asking, “How can I help you?” we should be asking “How can we help each other?” A Time Bank will allow us to work together to create a system of mutual respect to rebuild and sustain our community. We need to take advantage of our unused resources to fulfill our unmet needs. https://twitter.com/ #!/CvilleTimeBank
