Tomorrow marks the start of Counselor Training Week at CHT! Led by Philip and Caitlin, our year-round team will welcome back returning counselors and introduce new staff to Camp. Throughout the week, they’ll learn about our Camp culture, get to know one another, and build the skills needed to create a fun, safe, and memorable summer for our campers.

Each year, more than 600 volunteers help keep the mission of Camp Holiday Trails alive by making traditional camp experiences possible for children and teens with medical needs.

We are so thankful to a recent volunteer group from Boar's Head for organizing and refreshing our Art Room ahead of Summer Camp 2026. The Art Room gives campers a positive space to express themselves, and connect with their creativity.

By preparing the space and organizing supplies, their team helped our campers and staff be able to make the most of the Art Room this summer. Thank you for supporting Camp and our campers!

Our Summer 2026 Leadership Team is officially back on Camp grounds and working alongside our Camp Director and Director of Programs to prepare for Counselor Training Week next week!
We are excited to welcome Matt as our Volunteer Coordinator. Matt has long been part of our Camp family as a former camper and returning staff member. We are also thrilled to have Claire back for their 14th summer at Camp. After spending 10 summers as a camper and returning for their 4th year on Summer Staff, Claire is stepping into the role of Med Liaison this summer. We’re also excited to welcome Elle back for her 3rd summer on our Summer Staff team as a Cabin Director!

Thank you to everyone who attended our Hope Grows Celebration and Annual Fundraiser this Mother's Day, and to our talented photographer Graceful Perceptions LLC for generously donating time to capture these beautiful moments from the day.

Because of our supportive community:
• 35 volunteers gave their time to make the event possible
• 350+ tickets were sold
• $50,000 was raised through sponsorship support
• $30,000+ was contributed through ticket sales and donations

Camp Holiday Trails is excited to attend the 2026 Central Virginia Walk for Victory hosted by The Marfan Foundation at Darden Towe Park on Saturday, June 27 from 11 AM–2 PM!

Walk for Victory is a family-friendly community event that raises awareness and support for individuals and families affected by Marfan syndrome, Loeys-Dietz syndrome, VEDS, and related conditions. The event will include community connection, kids’ activities, lunch, and a short, non-competitive walk.

Be sure to stop by and say hello to the CHT team while learning more about our year-round Camp programs for children and teens with medical needs and their siblings.
