We’re proud to share that Virginia Murphy, our Registrar of School Age Programs, has been named 2026 Cause-Driven Leader of the Year for the Piedmont Family YMCA! 🎉

Virginia was recognized at a recent YMCA conference for the care, positivity, and leadership she brings to our youth programs and the families we serve.

For families preparing for Summer Camp or YMCA After School, Virginia is the person working behind the scenes to help keep registration moving smoothly. From organizing student files to answering questions and helping families troubleshoot along the way, she makes sure children are ready to attend and that families feel supported.

This award celebrates someone who lives the Y’s mission through service, dedication, and care for others. Virginia does that every day, and we are so grateful to have her on our team.

🎓✨ Caps off to our 2026 Pre-K graduates at the YMCA Early Learning Center at the Jefferson School!✨🎓

With perfect weather, excited kids, and plenty of good food, it was a joyful day celebrating this special milestone. Thank you to all the family and friends who came out to cheer on these amazing kiddos and show them so much love and support.

We are so proud of our graduates and all they have accomplished. Wishing them all the best as they head off to kindergarten! 💙

Openings are available for 3 and 4 year olds at our beautiful new YMCA Early Learning Center at Sentara Martha Jefferson. ✨

Our newest early learning center provides quality full-day care in a warm, stimulating environment designed to help children build confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning. The center serves children ages 6 weeks to 5 years, is open Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 6pm, and offers sliding scale rates.

A huge thank you to all the moms, grandmothers, and caregivers who joined us for our annual ELC Mother’s Day Brunch! 🌺💐

From a fun luau celebration at our Jefferson School location to our very first Mother’s Day Brunch at our new Sentara Martha Jefferson location, it was a beautiful day to come together, celebrate, enjoy brunch, and hit the dance floor. We are so grateful to everyone who took time out of their day to make these moments so special!

Our Adaptive Camps are designed for youth and adults with disabilities who need more support than a traditional camp can provide. Campers enjoy a fun, welcoming environment that helps build confidence, independence, and connection.

Financial assistance is available, because we believe every camper deserves the chance to belong. We encourage families to apply early so we have time to review assistance applications and help you get ready for camp.
