🌿 Native plant lovers, this one's for you! Join us Saturday, June 13 for a two-part Garden Tour in Downtown Fredericksburg!

9 AM–Noon: Tour a brand-new native plant garden — a half-acre city lot transformed from all-grass to a gorgeous oasis complete with a dry creek bed, meadow, bridges, and arbors. This half acre garden in the city has just been planted this spring with mostly one gallon plants from the Tree Fredericksburg Native Plant Festival. Designer Anne Little and the homeowner will be on hand to answer questions!

1–4 PM: Explore a stunning mature woodland native garden in the heart of the city, featuring 40+ trees on just 1/3 acre, a goldfish pond, stone paths, and more.

ReLeaf Cville to care for local tree population in final year of grant

The organization has nearly completed a major tree preservation project that provided free professional care to 100 mature trees owned by 56 homeowners in Charlottesville’s Fifeville and 10th and Page neighborhoods.

New wildflower meadow to be added at McIntire Park

Charlottesville Parks and Recreation is adding a new native grass and wildflower meadow installation in McIntire Park, the city announced on May 28. The project, located over an acre of the former McIntire golf course, aims to increase biodiversity and provide a habitat for pollinators, birds, and other small animals.
