Congratulations to our June Teen of the month Cipriano Andres! As a rising senior, he continues to show positivity, leadership, and encouragement toward his peers each day at the Club. He arrived bright and early for our VCU Career Chat and earned this month’s recognition through his dedication and enthusiasm. We are proud of his participation, positive attitude, and the way he motivates others around him!

Congratulations to our seniors that graduated at MHS last night! 3 current members and 9 in total that have been members at some point. All three have been members for many years, as you can see, and quite literally grew up at the club. We couldn’t be more proud of everything they’ve accomplished! Good luck & we love you! 🎓🎓🎓

FREE books??? FREE bike repairs??? Both The Free Book Bus and Community Bikes showed up today at the Club to provide what they do best: books and bikes!!! Ms. Sharon even let a few members beep the horn!!! Two of our most amazing community partners on the same day made the first Wednesday of May even better. For any of you needing bike repair, wanting to donate an unused bike, or in need of a bike yourself, go to Community Bikes off Preston Avenue and say that you’re from Southwood! Mr. Jake will take good care of you!!!

Today we said goodbye to Ms. Reyna 😢 she has been front desk for awhile now and has made some meaningful relationships with members and parents but we wish her luck on her next adventure and send her off with love! Her day was filled with hugs and flowers and paintings and cards! ✨
