Scenes from the July 30- August 1 Virginia Polo PTF Clinic

3 days of instruction and skill development for these talented interscholastic players. They advanced their arena strategy, riding skills, horsemanship in the barn, and did some dynamic video review of chukkers. These players worked hard and played hard at the Virginia Polo Center!

Can't wait to see you back next summer and hope you all have great fall and spring semesters of I/I polo!

That's a wrap on the first Virginia Polo PTF Clinic of the summer! 19 Interscholastic players from all over the country came to the Virginia Polo Center for 3 days of top notch instruction.

These student players worked hard and played hard! A huge thank you goes out to the Polo Training Foundation for sponsoring the clinic and to Jennifer McLeavey for her hours of planning and collaboration that went into making it a success. Thank you to Abbie Grant, Julio Arellano, Miguel Torres, Caroline Brockman, and Jenny Schwartz for sharing your expertise, coaching the chukkers, and working together to enhance these young players' skills.

If you missed this session, Virginia Polo is hosting another PTF sponsored clinic July 30- August 1st. This session will also be followed up with a NYTS tournament at Roseland Polo Club in nearby Crozet, VA providing lots of opportunities to improve upon your arena skills and compete on the grass with your peers!

Polo Training Foundation 📸 thanks to Liz Paternotte for the great action shots!

Horse of the week! Cobra was donated by Felipe Viana. She has recently made the transition from the women’s string to club! Her favorite treat is grape fruit snacks. She loves scratches if you can catch her! She is affectionately known as a bot, and will act like a robot on the ground. She is a specific ride, but if you know her, you will love her.

Horse of the week! Dumptruck was donated the summer of 2015 from pony express. He was too wild and strong so he only played on the grass for one summer when he first arrived and then never left the arena again haha he’s been a dominant figure on the men’s string ever since.
