🚨 If you have a past felony conviction, this message is for you.

Thousands of Virginians with past felony convictions may now be eligible to register and vote—and many people simply don’t know it.

That’s why getting this information into the hands of our communities is so important.

As National Director of Client & Community Engagement at The Fountain Fund, I was honored to speak with Charlottesville Tomorrow about why this information matters. For people who have spent years believing their voice was permanently taken away, knowing that they may now have a path back to the ballot is powerful.

Your record does not erase your voice. Your past does not erase your place in your community.

If you or someone you know has a felony conviction, don’t assume you’re ineligible. Check your eligibility and make sure you have accurate information.

All Virginians with felony convictions are now automatically granted voting rights upon release from prison, except for those with convictions of murder, voluntary manslaughter and involuntary manslaughter.
