¡Hola Oaklawn! 💛

Circle de Luz is so excited to begin this new partnership and welcome eight new girls to our program!

During the search for a new school to partner with, Oaklawn Language Academy stood out for many reasons, but the main one is the extensive community that has been built throughout the years. Part of the team took a visit to Oaklawn Language Academy this week, and the sense of family is strong throughout the hallways. Just like Oaklawn, Circle is a big family and we are so excited to continue growing it!

👐 Help us welcome our 2 new UNC Charlotte Bachelor of Social Work interns, Abby and Julissa! They are both first-generation college students who are eager to work with the Circle de Luz team in supporting our students and families. ✨ Abby and Julissa have already been connecting with our Circle de Luz familias, bringing in their different developing passions and interests. We are so appreciative to have them both as part of the Circle de Luz familia! 💛

Study Groups are officially back!

Last week, our students came together to study, connect, and support one another as they work toward their goals. We love seeing them show up ready to learn, ask questions, and grow together.

As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re grateful for those who paved the way for us. Now it’s our turn to help light the way for the next generation. We’re looking for a few more volunteers to join our village!

🔬 Science Tutors to help scholars with STEM subjects and coursework
🌙 Class Captains to mentor scholars, build connections, and help create a welcoming community

Whether you can help occasionally or more regularly, your time, experience, and encouragement can make a real difference in a scholar’s journey.

Interested in joining the village? Send us a DM or check out the link in our bio. ✨

And there’s an even bigger reason to show up:

It’s community.
It’s memory.
It’s an investment in the next generation.
