🔆 Summer Intern Spotlight 🔆

We're excited to introduce Laurin Miller, one of our Summer Pro Bono Interns at the Lowcountry Mediation Center!

Laurin is a rising third-year law student at Charleston School of Law and a graduate of West Virginia University . She is interested in estate planning and family law and hopes to help individuals and families navigate life's most important decisions while serving as a strong advocate for those who need guidance, support, and a voice.

Outside of law school, Laurin enjoys spending time by the water, playing with her Dalmatian, Nori, spotting local wildlife, and getting lost in a good documentary.

Laurin was drawn to LMC because she wants to learn how to facilitate meaningful conversations and help people better understand one another. She believes mediation offers a unique opportunity to bridge differences through communication, empathy, and collaboration, and she is excited to gain experience helping people navigate conflict in a productive way.

We are grateful to have Laurin on our team this summer and look forward to seeing the impact she will make. Welcome to LMC, Laurin!

We are thrilled to share that the Lowcountry Mediation Center has been awarded a $40,000 grant from the South Carolina Bar Foundation!

This generous support will help us continue expanding access to mediation services and strengthening our mission of providing accessible, high-quality mediation conflict resolution services to help individuals, families, and communities find fair and lasting solutions outside of court

What a wonderful morning of learning and connection!

A huge thank you to our generous event sponsors, the Office of Jill E.M. HaLevi, Mediation & Legal Services LLC and Settlyd, whose support made it possible for us to offer this CLE free of charge to attendees.

We are also incredibly grateful to our presenters, Katrina Hines, CER, Alexia Pittas, Esq., and Christi Zerega, MA, LPC, for sharing their knowledge and expertise. We truly enjoyed the engaging content, thoughtful discussions, and practical insights they brought to the program.

Thank you as well to Charleston School of Law for graciously allowing us to use their beautiful meeting space for this event.

We're pleased to introduce Courtney Walker, one of our Summer Pro Bono Interns at the Lowcountry Mediation Center!

Courtney is a rising third-year law student at Charleston School of Law and earned her undergraduate degree from Auburn University. She is interested in pursuing a career in personal injury law.

Outside of law school, Courtney enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Courtney was drawn to the Lowcountry Mediation Center because mediation provides a unique opportunity to help individuals resolve disputes through a collaborative process. She is excited to learn more about alternative dispute resolution and gain hands-on experience in the field.

We are grateful to have Courtney with us this summer and look forward to being part of her professional journey. Welcome to the LMC team, Courtney!

Please join us in welcoming Lily Brody to the Lowcountry Mediation Center as one of our Summer Pro Bono Interns!

Lily is a rising third-year law student at Charleston School of Law and a graduate of the University of Georgia . She is interested in both family and sports law, with aspirations of serving as general counsel for a professional sports team.

When she's not studying, Lily enjoys spending time at the beach, cheering on Georgia football, and trying new restaurants with family and friends.

When asked what drew her to LMC, Lily shared:
"The Lowcountry Mediation Center provides me the opportunity to learn how to better understand clients' desires and goals and better solve conflict."

We are grateful for Lily's dedication and enthusiasm and are excited to have her on our team this summer. Welcome, Lily!
