"Just get him through the weekend." That's how it starts for most families.

In this episode of Hope Connection, Pastor Steve sits down with Pastor Rolanda Jones and intake supervisor Andrew Peters to talk about the first 72 hours after someone stops using — the window most families face with no idea what's actually happening, medically or emotionally.

You'll hear what withdrawal really looks like, what to say (and what never to say) to someone in it, and the true story of two families who faced the same crisis and made two very different choices.

If you're walking through this with someone you love right now, this episode is for you — and so is our admissions line: 844-947-2944.

This is what True Recovery looks like when it starts reaching beyond yourself.

This week our Georgetown Adult & Teen Challenge students have been serving alongside a local MEALS on WHEELS program, helping prepare their kitchen so they can begin cooking and delivering meals next week to elderly neighbors and others who are unable to get out and provide meals for themselves.

And this is only the beginning.

Every Tuesday and Wednesday, our guys will be giving a few hours of their day to serve, work, and help make sure people in our community are cared for.

We believe a relationship with Jesus Christ is the foundation of true transformation. And Jesus Himself showed us what that life looks like when He said He came “not to be served, but to serve.”

There is something powerful that happens when a man/woman who once needed help becomes the one extending a hand to someone else!

When our students serve, they are not just helping prepare a kitchen or deliver a meal. They are learning that their lives have value. They are discovering that they have something to give. They are becoming men/women who show up, take responsibility, care for others, and make their communities stronger.

We are incredibly proud of our Georgetown leadership and students for stepping up and serving their community so well. Thank you for showing us all what it looks like to put faith into action.

Something NEW is happening in Sanford, North Carolina.

For months, we have been praying, building, renovating, and believing for more than just a beautiful Women’s Home. We have been preparing a place where women can encounter Jesus, break free from life-controlling addictions, and begin rebuilding their lives on a foundation of hope, truth, and purpose.

What you’re seeing in these pictures is only a “Sneak Peek.”

Every room represents a future testimony.
Every bed represents a woman who needs hope.
Every improvement represents another opportunity for a life to be restored.

This renovation has been a long journey, but we are finally nearing the finish line and we believe God is preparing us for something greater than we could have imagined.

We have “exciting news coming” in the next couple of weeks, and we cannot wait to share what God is doing through the Women’s Home in Sanford.

For now, take a look at this small glimpse of what’s coming.

This is more than a renovation. It is preparation for transformation.

Stay tuned. The story is just beginning.

Something powerful is happening in the city of Kannapolis and at our Kannapolis Adult & Teen Challenge campus.

These photos capture more than a gathering. They capture what happens when community leaders, law enforcement, ministry partners, and people who care about their city sit down together and have real conversations about real problems.

We’re grateful for every person willing to come to the table, listen, learn, collaborate, and ask the bigger question:

“How do we help more people find freedom?”

That’s the kind of conversation that can change a family.
Change a community. Change a city.
And ultimately, change a generation.

Kannapolis, we believe the best is still ahead.

What an incredible Sunday at Covenant Love Church in Fayetteville!

We are so grateful to Pastor Al and Tava Brice and the entire Covenant Love leadership team for welcoming our students today.

Our guys had the opportunity to participate in worship, and it was powerful! One of the highlights of the day was seeing so many of our graduates who now attend Covenant Love and faithfully serve there. What a testimony for our current students to see men who have walked this road before them, completed the program, and are now planted, growing, and serving in the local church.

We were also grateful for the opportunity to share for a few minutes about Sandhills Adult & Teen Challenge and the life-changing work God is doing through this ministry.

Thank you, Covenant Love Church, for your faithfulness and partnership with this ministry in the past and for continuing to partner with us as we move into the future. We are deeply grateful for churches that believe in restoration, transformation, and the power of the Gospel.

When you give to Sandhills Adult & Teen Challenge, your generosity is doing more than changing lives locally. You are helping us bring hope, freedom, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ wherever God opens the door.

Lives are being changed. Families are being restored. And the Gospel is going forward.

Thank you for partnering with us!

Tonight was more than a graduation. It was a reminder of what a GOD we serve.

At our August 2026 Sandhills Adult & Teen Challenge Graduation, we had the joy of celebrating Jonathan Perez as he crossed a major milestone in his journey. His family was there, standing beside him, celebrating the work God has done and the man Jonathan is becoming.

There were tears, there was joy, there was worship, and there was a deep sense that the Holy Spirit was moving in the room.

We are so thankful for the churches and ministries that came together to help lead us in worship, including Aberdeen Pentecostal Holiness Church, True Life Ministries NC - Scotland County, and others who helped create an atmosphere of praise and expectancy.

One of the most powerful moments of the night came as our 2004 graduate, Evangelist Chance Walters, brought a mighty word from the Lord. To see a man who once sat where our students sit now, return years later carrying the Gospel and pouring truth into the next generation, was a testimony all by itself.

This is why we do what we do.

Lives can change.
Families can be restored.
Chains can be broken.
Hope can rise again.
And Jesus is still setting people free.

Jonathan, tonight we celebrate you, but we also celebrate the faithfulness of God in your life. This graduation is not the end of your story. It is the beginning of a new chapter.

Keep walking. Keep believing.

We were honored to represent Sandhills Adult & Teen Challenge at Tuesday’s roundtable discussion hosted by U.S. Congressman Addison McDowell in Kannapolis.

We are grateful for the opportunity to sit alongside pastors and community leaders who share a passion for strengthening families, protecting our youth, and serving those in need.

Real change happens when leaders come together, listen, collaborate, and take action. I’m thankful Sandhills Adult & Teen Challenge has a seat at the table as we continue working to bring hope, restoration, and lasting transformation to individuals and families throughout our communities.

🚧 Exciting things are STILL happening at our Kannapolis Center! 🚧

Our kitchen remodel is underway, and it’s coming together!

A huge THANK YOU to Church Concord for investing their time, resources, and hard work into making this renovation possible. This kitchen will be more than just a beautiful new space, it will help us continue serving the men and women whose lives are being transformed every day.

We’ve still got a few weeks to go, but the progress is exciting.

Stay tuned—the finished pictures are coming soon!

We’re grateful for every person helping make this vision a reality. 🙏

This past Saturday was an incredible day of ministry and community impact at Sandhills Adult & Teen Challenge and Awaken Ministries of NC

We were blessed with a tractor-trailer loaded with 30 pallets of chicken donated by Perdue, and we had the privilege of turning that blessing right back around and sharing it with our community.

But today was about so much more than food.

Our students worked hard loading chicken into cars and trucks, serving families, talking with people, and most importantly, praying with those who came through.

And in the middle of serving chicken, God was serving up something eternal: several people gave their lives to Jesus Christ!

That’s what this ministry is all about. Meeting needs and Loving people right where they are. Giving our students opportunities to serve others. And making sure that every open door becomes an opportunity to share the hope of Jesus.

A huge THANK YOU to Perdue for your generosity and for helping us bless so many families today.

30 pallets of chicken. Hundreds of opportunities to serve. Lives touched. Souls saved. Jesus glorified.

This is what happens when the Church and community come together.
