For 40 years, the Sandhills Coalition has worked alongside our neighbors during life's most difficult moments.

Through food assistance, emergency support, clothing programs, and the generosity of this community, we've been able to provide help when it was needed most.

If the Sandhills Coalition has made a difference in our community, we'd be honored to have your nomination in Best of the Pines 2026.

Nominations close June 21, and every nomination helps more people learn about the resources available through the Sandhills Coalition.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors, One Purchase at a Time

For 40 years, the Sandhills Coalition has been supported by neighbors helping neighbors.

Today, that support comes in many forms.

We're excited to share that the Sandhills Coalition is now participating in Walmart Round Up through Walmart Spark Good.

Some people volunteer their time. Some donate food. Some shop our resale stores. Some choose to support local families through small everyday actions that add up to make a big difference.

Through Walmart Round Up, shoppers can round their purchases up to the nearest dollar when shopping through the Walmart app or Walmart.com and direct that change to support local nonprofits.

While each individual contribution may be small, those dollars add up and help provide food assistance, emergency support, clothing assistance, and other essential services for Moore County families.

For four decades, this community has shown what is possible when neighbors care for one another. Walmart Round Up is one more way to be part of that tradition.
Together, we're helping ensure that neighbors continue helping neighbors for the next 40 years.

For 40 years, the Sandhills Coalition has been built on a simple belief:

Neighbors help neighbors.

That belief is still alive today.

Every meal distributed, every clothing voucher, every volunteer hour, every donated item, and every act of support helps ensure that local families have somewhere to turn when they need help most.

Community support takes many forms. Some people volunteer. Some donate. Some shop our resale stores. Others simply share our story with a friend.

As we prepare to celebrate 40 years of service this July, we're reminded that the Coalition has never been about a building or a program.

It's about people helping people.

And that is something worth celebrating.

Sometimes support looks like a box of groceries.

Sometimes it looks like help with a utility bill, a prescription, or guidance through a difficult season.

Every day, Moore County neighbors come to Sandhills Coalition looking for a little stability and a little hope. Thanks to the support of our community, we're able to meet people where they are and help them move forward.

For 40 years, we've been neighbors helping neighbors.

Care that hits close to home.

❤️ Service in action.

Today, the youth group from Christ Community Church - Pinehurst, NC helped us sort clothing donations and organize our new sorting space. In just a few hours, they tackled a project that will help us process donations faster and better serve our community.

Every item sorted supports the mission of the Sandhills Coalition and helps strengthen programs that provide food, clothing, and emergency assistance to local families.

Interested in a volunteer project for your church, youth group, civic organization, or workplace team? We'd love to connect.

The first smile matters.

For many people, reaching out for help can be difficult. A warm welcome, a listening ear, and a friendly face can make all the difference.

Our Client Services volunteers are often the first people neighbors meet when they walk through our doors. They help welcome guests, answer questions, connect families with resources, and ensure every visitor feels respected and supported.

As we celebrate 40 years of neighbors helping neighbors, we're grateful for the volunteers who help make our mission possible every day.

☀️ Summer Hunger Doesn't Take a Vacation

When school is out, many families lose access to meals their children receive during the school year. For households already struggling with rising costs, summer can be one of the hardest seasons.

Every week, Sandhills Coalition helps Moore County families access the food they need to stay healthy and stable.

As we celebrate 40 years of neighbors helping neighbors, we're reminded that caring for our community starts with meeting basic needs.

Thank you to the donors, volunteers, shoppers, and community partners who make this work possible.

Forty years can bring a lot of change.

New faces. New challenges. New ways of serving our community.
But one thing has remained the same.

Neighbors helping neighbors.

These pantry photos were taken years apart, yet they tell the same story: a community coming together to ensure local families have access to food and support when they need it most.

As we celebrate 40 years of impact, we're grateful for everyone who has helped carry this mission forward.

A huge thank you to Star 102.5FM for hosting a food drive in support of Sandhills Coalition!

We’ll be at The HoneyBaked Ham Company all day accepting donations for our community food pantry.

Community partnerships like this help us keep our pantry shelves stocked and ensure that Moore County families facing hunger have access to the food they need. Every donation makes a difference, and we're grateful to Star 102.5 and everyone who contributed to this effort.

Thank you for helping us provide care that hits closer to home. ❤️
