A recent CDC analysis found that more than 88 million adults in the United States experience at least one sunburn each year, while more than 18 million report being sunburned four or more times annually.
Perhaps most surprising, about 55% of adults said they were using sunscreen when they got their most recent sunburn. This serves as an important reminder that sunscreen works best when combined with other forms of sun protection, including shade, protective clothing, and hats.
Researchers found that sunburns most commonly occurred while spending time in, on, or near water, exercising outdoors, drinking alcohol, intentionally tanning, or working outside. For the full study visit https://tinyurl.com/5av2v49u
