Fun Fact Friday!

There's been a myth circulating that people with oily skin should stop moisturizing during the summer. However, this is FALSE. Even if you have oily skin, skipping moisturization can result in even oilier skin, redness, dryness, irritation, and exacerbated acne breakouts. If you're unsure where to begin, seeking advice from a skincare consultant about the best approach for your skin is an excellent idea!

A recent CDC analysis found that more than 88 million adults in the United States experience at least one sunburn each year, while more than 18 million report being sunburned four or more times annually.

Perhaps most surprising, about 55% of adults said they were using sunscreen when they got their most recent sunburn. This serves as an important reminder that sunscreen works best when combined with other forms of sun protection, including shade, protective clothing, and hats.

Researchers found that sunburns most commonly occurred while spending time in, on, or near water, exercising outdoors, drinking alcohol, intentionally tanning, or working outside. For the full study visit https://tinyurl.com/5av2v49u

Skin cancer remains the most common cancer in the United States, and even a single sunburn can increase your risk. The more sunburns you experience, the greater that risk becomes.

Whether you're at the beach, by the pool, on a walk, or working outdoors, take steps to protect your skin every day.
