Simply Cats We are Boise's cageless, no-kill, feline adoption center. Adoptions and surrenders are by appointment only. No appointment needed for retail shopping.

Simply Cats is Boise, Idaho's no-kill, cageless feline adoption center. Simply Cats got its start (with just six cats!) as Just Strays Animal Foundation, Inc., in a one room office in 1986. Thanks to a very dedicated group of people, the shelter grew and moved into a larger building. In 2006, the name of the organization was changed to Simply Cats Adoption Center to reflect its feline-only animal population. Meanwhile, plans were underway to construct a brand new state-of the-art adoption center. Thanks to generous donors, the facility was constructed and donated in 2007 and has been our home ever since. Today, Simply Cats Adoption Center shelters over 100 cats and kittens and operates due to the hard work of a small staff and many volunteers. Simply Cats is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that relies on donations for funding.

I’m 14 and a half years old, with soft grey and apricot fur, and I’m a people person through and through!

I’m at Simply Cats because of my owner’s health issues. New places take me a minute, but once I feel safe, I’m sweet and engaging, and I have a cute squeaky meow to tell you all about it.

I love to chirp and make biscuits, and I’m happy with a catnip toy or a good scratcher. I still have playful moments, even at my age. I like to watch what’s happening outside from a window perch, and I’m a champion sleep buddy.

A warm home with someone to keep me company is all I’m hoping for in my golden years.

This sweet girl would prefer to be the queen of her castle as an only cat, but with slow and proper introductions, she could also do well living with older cats. It's unknown how she would do with dogs or children, but given her confident temperament, she may do well with them, too.

Can you help make this Halloween extra special for our kitties? This spooky season, help fill our cats’ pumpkin baskets with wet food and other goodies!

Our supplies are starting to run very low, and our rescue cats and kittens could really use your support. Donations can be dropped off in the bin in front of our facility at 2833 S Victory View Way, Boise, ID 83709, or you can donate online through one of our wish lists: simplycats.org/how-to-help/wish-list

We’ve updated our wish lists with the items we need most right now, including pate wet food.

Honey Bug is October’s Everyone Needs a Home sponsored cat! Thanks to the Cendejas Group at Keller Williams Realty Boise, her adoption fee is fully covered this month, meaning you can adopt this sweet girl at no cost. ❤️

Honey Bug arrived at Simply Cats back in May and has now spent over five months waiting for someone to take a chance on her.

In a sea of kittens, it can be easy to overlook a shy girl like Honey Bug. When she first arrived, she spent most of her time hiding in a cat tree, trying to build up the courage to come out. Over the last few weeks, though, she’s grown braver and blossomed into the sweetest, roly-poly girl!

Honey Bug loves when you talk sweetly to her and tell her how cute she is. She’ll flop onto her side, roll around, and make the best biscuits. She loves pets, has the best elevator butt, and even has an adorable little crackly meow she uses to tell you about her day.

She can get overstimulated with too much affection, so she needs someone who understands her boundaries and gives her breaks when she needs them.

Honey Bug would do best in a quiet, patient home without young children. With slow and proper introductions, she could do well with other cats. Her experience with dogs is unknown, but she may also do well with a calm, respectful dog following proper introductions.

Shy cats like Honey Bug can be easy to pass by, but they have so much love to give once they feel comfortable enough to show it. After more than five months of waiting, this sweet girl deserves the chance to keep blossoming in a home of her own.

Hi, I'm Jack! I'm confident, social, and I love to let you know just how happy I am to see you.

I walk tall, headbutt, rub against your legs, and purr so loudly you can't help but smile. I'm a genuinely sweet, easygoing guy who loves attention and loves giving it right back.

One of our volunteers shared that I love climbing into her lap (all 26 pounds of me), making biscuits, and dozing off tucked in the crook of her arm. She said I've won her heart in no time, and I have a feeling I’ll win yours too!

Meet Priscilla, a 12-year-old senior queen! 👑

Priscilla is a typical tortie, which means she comes with beauty….sweetness….and plenty of tortitude. She knows exactly what she wants, and she's not shy about letting you know when she doesn't agree with something. But hey, when you're an old lady, you're allowed a little attitude, right?

First impressions aren’t exactly Priscilla’s forte. She may greet you with an unimpressed stare, ignore you completely, or even offer a little tail swish when you first meet. But give this old lady the time and patience she deserves, and you’ll discover a sassy and sweet girl who enjoys gentle pets, purrs, and quiet company.

Priscilla likes affection on her own terms and will let you know when she’s had enough. She’s an independent girl who would love a quiet home where she can spend her days relaxing in a cozy spot. Naps are one of her favorite pastimes, after all. She would do best in a calm home without young children, other cats, or dogs.

Simply Cats is a wonderful place for cats to wait for their next family, but even with our best efforts, shelter life comes with a lot of unpredictability. New sounds, unfamiliar smells, and constant comings and goings can make it hard for any cat to truly let down their guard. For a senior like Priscilla, we hope someone will be willing to look past that first impression and give her the chance she deserves.

She doesn’t need constant entertainment or excitement. She’s just looking for a patient, peaceful home with a warm bed, good food, and someone who understands her boundaries and appreciates her for exactly who she is.

Priscilla deserves a place to spend her golden years feeling comfortable, understood, and loved. We hope someone will see past her sass, give this senior queen a chance, and offer her a loving home for her next chapter.
