Have you ever run 400 miles? Me neither. But last week, Leif Carlson did, all in support of wildland firefighters and their families.

What Leif accomplished through Project 400 is hard to put into words. Over the course of 10 days, Leif ran from the Canadian border to New York City, raising more than $100,000 along the way, with his brother Anders joining him for the final quarter and their father supporting the journey.

To Leif, Anders, and everyone who donated, encouraged, and followed along, thank you. Your support will have a substantial impact on the wildland firefighters and families we serve.

We shared a few thoughts on what Project 400 means to us and why we're so grateful for everyone who made it possible. Read the full story and check out Leif's Instagram at the link below.

Bruce and Joseph with Alta Hotshots gave some of their day to visit Burk today. At one point they got to exchange challenge coins the good old fashion handshake way. Thank you both so much for stopping by and keeping his spirits up. Us staff and especially Burk appreciate you guys!

A big thank you to Karl Lieb, Chief of the Salt Lake City FD on behalf of the UT State Fire Chiefs Association, for stopping by and visiting Burk at the hospital. Those who know burn injuries know about the lengthy healing journey, and even more know how quiet and boring hospital rooms can be. Visits from the same community Burk has served over the decades really help lift his spirits. Once again, thank you for your visit Karl.
