In 2025, the City of Boise and Ada County will renegotiate the area of impact (AOI). In 2024, Senate Bill 1403 was enacted, which would allow cities to hold an area of impact that is LIKELY to be annexed within 5 years and only within 2 miles of the city limits. As many of you know, the Boise area of impact has been in place for decades with no plan in place for when or how annexation will occur. SB1403 changes that. Please attend our meeting on Thursday, December 5th to hear first-hand from Boise City and Ada County on changes coming soon that will affect the area of impact and how you can participate in public hearings next year.

Talk about hutzpah, Mayor McLean candidate for ACHD PATRICIA NILSSON posts campaign signs along Murgoitio Park after publicly stating that the City should break its promise of a regional park to “people who live outside the city.” Based on your decades living on the public dime as a “planner,” how many citizens of “Boise” live within walking distance of Murgoitio Park? Second question: should ACHD stick with its current refusal to widen Cole Rd. (like it will Maple Grove), because “Sen. Risch’s home is on Cole Rd.”?
You chose to run for office. That’s not sitting in a city cubicle. Candidates must answer questions!

Don't forget about tomorrow's meeting regarding water in SW Boise, specifically those who live between Cloverdale Road to Cole Road and Franklin Road to Lake Hazel Road.

Below are some FAQs regarding the Water Main Extension Project. Also at the meeting, we will be discussing the HDR Regional Wells Study that was conducted over the last year. Reminder that the Murio Farms project will be heard by the planning & zoning commission Monday, March 4 at 6:00. The future traffic in SW Boise including South Cole Alliance Neighborhood Association and Maple Grove is at stake.

ACHD provides a warning to the city: “The City of Boise will need to determine how much congestion they are willing to accept in their community for current and future residents.” City of Boise finance officials Mike Sherack and Linda Lowry wrote “Considering the projected revenues from the development of Murio Farms, and the estimated costs of providing fire, police, parks, and other services, the project is not deemed financially feasible from a net present value (NPV) perspective.”

Massive Murio Farms is on the Planning & Zoning Commission agenda for March 4. We will circulate suggested comments about the impacts this project would have on our already overwhelmed infrastructure and resources.
Note that although the city has taken no official action and Murgoitio Park is still listed in the inventory of “parks,” city maps now identify the “Murgoitio Site”…when governments erase history or write territory off the maps.
