Meet Brian, one of the volunteers that does merchandising at our Habitat Store. For a merchandiser, the store is a canvas.

Donated treasures come in throughout the day, in boxes and bags, and our merchandisers are responsible for turning them into a store. Arranging displays, styling shelves that make sense, keeping every section worth wandering into, that’s Brian and our merchandising crew.

If you’ve ever rearranged a room for fun or organized a bookshelf nobody asked you to organize, we’d love to see your skills in our Store. No experience needed: we train you, you pick your hours, and we have a wonderful crew for you to learn alongside.

Come make the store beautiful with us: https://www.hfhwhatcom.org/volunteer

Last week volunteers gave 239 hours to the mission. That’s right here in Whatcom County, roughly 6 full-time work weeks donated by people who decided affordable housing for their neighbors was worth their free time.

Habitat would not exist without volunteers, and our table always has more seats. No experience needed: we train you on everything and you pick your hours. Even one morning a week makes a big difference. Learn more about how you can help at https://www.hfhwhatcom.org/volunteer

Our volunteer Pam helps out all over the store, including in the tool department!

Our Hardware & Home Improvement section is looking for volunteers who enjoy keeping things organized, testing power tools, helping customers, and making sure a drill that's seen better days gets retired with dignity. You'll help rotate stock, suggest signage, price items, and keep the section shoppable.

Whether you've got hardware know-how or you just like a well-organized shelf, we'd love to have you. Visit https://www.hfhwhatcom.org/volunteer to learn more.

Pam has been volunteering with us for a long time, and if you've ever walked through our clothing department, you've probably already seen her work!

We're looking for more friendly faces in our clothing, accessories, linens & pillows department. That means organizing merchandise, getting creative with fun displays, and helping customers find what they're looking for. It's part retail brain, part creative problem-solving, and part spending your shift with people like Pam.

If you like making a space look good and have a passion for clothes thrifting, we'd love to hear from you. Visit https://www.hfhwhatcom.org/volunteer to learn more!

We want to give our heartfelt thanks to everyone: donors, sponsors, and bidders alike, for helping Habitat Whatcom raise over $14,000 through our Built it Forward Fall Online Auction. It was your generosity and care that helped us go past our initial goal by over $1000! We also want to thank our staff member Kelli for all her hard work in putting together and running this event. We couldn't have done it without her.

This is Chris, one of our volunteers and he’s part of our awesome cashier team. Running the register at the Habitat Store means he’s got the best seat in the building. Armed with a walkie-talkie and a smile, he gets to see every treasure pass the counter on its way to a new home.

Join our team with Chris! The job includes: greeting customers, ringing up purchases, making friends with the regulars, sprucing up Store displays and more. No experience needed, we’ll train you on everything, and every sale you ring up helps build homes for our neighbors here in Whatcom County.

Think you can do what Chris does? Sign up today! https://www.hfhwhatcom.org/volunteer
