❤️ Friday Outreach Update ❤️

Today was another outreach day in downtown Bellingham.

After parking our cars, our volunteers loaded wagons with snack bags, food, blankets, clothing, shoes, and other essentials before heading out to serve our unhoused neighbors.

This week, we made the Way Station our very first stop.

Last Friday, we were heartbroken to learn that some unhoused individuals had gone there hoping to find food and supplies from Love2Hope. Unfortunately, by the time we received the message, everything we had brought that day had already been distributed. There was simply nothing left to give.

Because of that experience, we decided to start today's outreach at the Way Station, where many unhoused neighbors gather to do laundry, access healthcare services, connect with resources, and find support.

When we first arrived, only a few people were there. However, word spread quickly. Before long, more and more unhoused friends began arriving for food, clothing, blankets, and essential supplies.

In less than an hour, everything was gone.

Because the Way Station has become such an important gathering place for our unhoused neighbors, Love2Hope will be changing our Friday outreach location.

📍 Starting next Friday, we will no longer walk throughout the downtown parks. Instead, we will set up our Friday outreach at the Way Station so that more people can easily find us and receive assistance.

Please help us spread the word so those who need support know where to find us.

Thank you to everyone who donates, volunteers, shares our posts, and helps make this work possible. Your kindness is bringing hope, comfort, and dignity to some of the most vulnerable members of our community. ❤️

Since Love2Hope was established two years ago, we have received an increasing number of requests for assistance—not only from unhoused and very low-income community members, but also from other local nonprofits supporting unhoused individuals. These requests often include fostering support, vaccinations, medical care, or requests to surrender animals to us.

As a small grassroots nonprofit, Love2Hope does not have the resources to operate a foster program. We are also not a rescue organization and therefore are not able to take in or rehome animals, as we do not have facilities or capacity for long-term housing.

However, what we can do—and remain deeply committed to—is providing critical support that keeps pets healthy and with their people. This includes vaccinations, basic veterinary care, pet food, and essential supplies. We believe no animal should suffer simply because their owner cannot afford basic preventative care.

To help reduce this burden, Love2Hope hosts free pet vaccination clinics three times per year for unhoused and very low-income pet owners. In addition, we provide ongoing outreach to support the health and wellbeing of companion animals in our community.

The need continues to grow every day. We regularly receive calls and requests for help, and we do our best to respond with the limited resources we have, because we do not want animals to suffer and we want to ease the burden on their humans.

Every Sunday, our outreach truck is filled with pet food and supplies—but by the end of each pop-up event, nearly everything is gone. We serve over 100 unhoused community members weekly, and the need for both pet food and human food remains extremely high.

We are currently in ongoing need of support.

If you are able, please consider donating:
• Pet food and pet supplies
• Human food (rice, beans, canned goods, and other non-perishable items)
• Monetary donations to support veterinary care and outreach services

What a beautiful, bustling day at Love2Hope today. ❤️

From the moment we arrived, the lines were already forming. Over 120 people came today along with their beloved pets, seeking food, warmth, pet supplies, and hope. Despite the overwhelming crowd, everyone waited patiently and respectfully for their turn. Three long lines stretched across the area — one for food, one for supplies, and one for veterinary care.

The food line seemed endless.

The supply area was overflowing with people searching for warm clothing, shoes, blankets, and sleeping bags to survive another difficult week outside. Twelve large bags filled with clothing, shoes, and blankets disappeared within just 30 minutes. The pet food went just as quickly — especially cat food and cat litter, which are always in desperate demand.

When we arrived, our truck was completely packed with donations and pet supplies. By the end of the popup clinic, it was nearly empty.

Our veterinary line was also very long. Many dogs and cats were waiting to be seen by Dr. Jordan. Because the popup clinic only lasts one hour, only about five to six animals can be seen each Sunday. Our first priority will always be unhoused pets, followed by very low-income families who simply cannot afford veterinary care. Even though they have housing, many are struggling deeply and are forced to choose between paying bills, buying food, or helping their sick pets.

We never want an animal to suffer simply because their family is poor.

Love2Hope will continue trying our best to help as many animals as we can with the limited resources we have. If your pet only needs vaccinations and it is not urgent, we kindly ask very low-income families to wait for our free vaccination clinic coming this July.

Right now, the need is overwhelming.

Every single week we hand out dry dog food, wet dog food, dry cat food, wet cat food, and cat litter — yet there is still never enough, especially for cats. The shelves empty almost immediately.

If you are able to help, please consider donating pet food, especially cat food and cat litter. Donations can be dropped off every Sunday between 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM at 215 N Commercial Street.

Last but not least, thank you so much to our amazing volunteers and Dr. Jordan for your continued dedication, sacrifice, and kindness in helping to serve the unhoused community and their pets. ❤️

Thank you for standing with Love2Hope and supporting our mission. ❤️

We are so honored and excited that Love2Hope has been selected as one of the six nonprofits featured at the Bellingham Bells game on July 22. ⚾❤️

The Bellingham Bells are a summer collegiate baseball team and a member of the West Coast League, bringing family-friendly baseball and community events to Joe Martin Field throughout the summer season.

This special night means so much to us because every ticket purchased will help support our unhoused neighbors and their beloved pets. 100% of the proceeds raised for Love2Hope will go directly back into the community — helping provide human food, clothing, hygiene supplies, pet food, pet supplies, and veterinary care for people and animals living on the streets.

Every Sunday popup potluck and Friday outreach, we meet people who are struggling just to make it through another day. Some sleep outside in the cold with their pets curled beside them for comfort and protection. Sometimes a warm meal, clean socks, a bag of pet food, or help with a vet bill can mean everything to someone who has almost nothing left.

Please help us continue this mission of compassion and care. We would truly love to see our community come together for a meaningful summer evening while helping those who need it most.

Please purchase tickets for the July 22 game at https://www.bellstickets.com/

Love2Hope will also have a table at Joe Martin Field starting at 5:30 PM on July 22. Please come say hello and learn more about our mission.

Thank you so much for your kindness, support, and compassion. ❤️

Today was such a beautiful day for outreach. As soon as we parked our cars, many of our unhoused friends started walking toward us because they knew we were there with food, snacks, clothing, and supplies again this Friday afternoon — not just on Sundays anymore.

Life is already so hard for many of them. Every day comes with stress, worries, hunger, and uncertainty. We really just want to be there for them in whatever small ways we can. Sometimes even a sandwich, a snack bag, or a clean piece of clothing can help someone feel cared for and get through one more night.

Our big snack bags were a huge hit again today. They were packed full of food, and the smiles on people’s faces when they received them truly said everything. Some people told us they had never gotten a snack bag this full before and were so thankful. We just kept hoping the food and sandwiches would last them through the night, so they would not have to sleep hungry on the cold ground.

And lastly, thank you so much to our wonderful volunteers who keep showing up every Friday to walk around downtown and help serve our unhoused neighbors. Your kindness, compassion, and time truly make a difference. ❤️
