Whatcom County's Only Annual All-Vegan Festival Bellingham Veg Fest is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit located in Bellingham, Washington.

We are here to encourage and support our community to choose a life free from animal products, and everyone is welcome here! We are powered by volunteers who are passionate about organizing educational events around veganism, animal rights, and the environmental impact that animal agriculture has on our planet. We believe that a vegan lifestyle should be accessible to all, so we strive to build bridges and make connections within our amazing community.

June 8th-14th! ONE WEEK AWAY!

That’s right! They’re BACK! 🤤
House-marinated soy curls, mashed/salted avocado, diced tomato, chopped cilantro, fresh lime wedge, fresh sliced jalapeño, house-made organic cashew sour cream and melted cheese all piled on top of crispy french fries cooked in organic coconut oil in a dedicated gluten-free deep frier.

*note that Vegan Restaurant Week is the week of June 8th - that means the first opportunity to get these delicious fries is Thursday June 11th!

This highly anticipated week is all about celebrating delicious, local, plant-based food.

Participating restaurants will each feature at least one 100% vegan special—no
substitutions, no tweaks needed. Just walk in and order!

After 7 years, JJ and I are stepping away from our roles with Bellingham Veg Fest.

I’ve poured my heart into BVF, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am so proud of what we have built.

Many of you know me as the director and organizer, but I want to recognize JJ here too. He co-founded Bellingham Veg Fest with me and Tamara, and he has been there every single year doing much of the literal heavy lifting at events and has always been the person who could jump in and solve whatever problem popped up.

When the three of us started Bellingham Veg Fest, we had no idea what it would become. Bellingham isn’t exactly a vegan mecca, but if you have seen the fest, you would think that it is! Over the years, thousands of people have come through the festival to support small vegan businesses and connect with local animal sanctuaries. We are showing folks that you can have all the things, without using animals.

We feel really good about where BVF is today. The foundation is strong, and it’s the perfect time for fresh ideas and new energy.

I’m so grateful for Tamara, our co-founder, and Steph, who joined the team a few years ago, who will carry the torch. They have some exciting ideas about building out a larger team and together, they will do great things! I’m looking forward to seeing where they take things and will support them as much as possible during the transition.

I’ll still be around. I’ll continue volunteering at Veg Fest, and JJ will too. I’ll be ramping up my support for Elf Sanctuary. Give them a follow as we have some fun events coming up.

Hey friends

Bellingham Veg Fest is looking for a social media volunteer to join our little team. Ideally someone who already knows who we are and what we do.

We’re a small, all-volunteer crew. Things are pretty quiet most of the year, but May and June (Vegan Restaurant Week) and then August and September (Veg Fest) get busy, so we need someone who can help share content when it ramps up.

We had an amazing potluck and gift exchange last night! Thanks to all who participated. The food was INCREDIBLE!

We did a vote for best savory and best sweet. Congrats to our winners!

Please know that there were MANY other delicious things! We only got photos of a few but WOW! We think that this was the best potluck yet!

We also did a white elephant gift exchange and you know it was a vegan one because the most coveted items were a tofu press and a cow stuffy! 😆😅
