Open Works Open Works is a makerspace with a mission to make tools, technology, and the knowledge to use them accessible to all.

Through affordable memberships and month-to-month space rentals, Open Works strives to make tools, technology, and the knowledge to use them accessible to all. The 34,000-square-foot state of the art fabrication facility in Baltimore, Maryland is a non-profit 501(c)(3) makerspace that houses a wood shop, metal shop, and digital media studio along with a digital fabrication shop (CNC routers and la

ser cutters), a 3D printing studio, a digital textiles lab, and a sewing studio. Open Works offers 110 individual micro-studios (7’x7’ work spaces) for operating a small business, coworking, designing, assembling, and finishing projects. For more information visit www.openworksbmore.org.

Open Works has teamed up with Wide Angle Youth Media to capture more of our curriculum in video to make it available, accessible and FREE on our Wiki.
Our Virtual Open Works project (VOW), funded by Baltimore City's Digital Equity Fund has been essential in addressing the digital divide.

Once retiring, empty nesting or experiencing other life changes, it can be hard to find the next thing to learn, something to be connecting to and a value-aligned space. Open Works is a maker community; a place and space where there are other like-minded creatives to learn from and build relationships with and that have the resources to support a senior's next chapter.

Open Works has senior adult memberships for folks ages 55+ for $45/month to support makers and entrepreneurs in their encore years.
