Open Works Open Works is a makerspace with a mission to make tools, technology, and the knowledge to use them accessible to all.

Through affordable memberships and month-to-month space rentals, Open Works strives to make tools, technology, and the knowledge to use them accessible to all. The 34,000-square-foot state of the art fabrication facility in Baltimore, Maryland is a non-profit 501(c)(3) makerspace that houses a wood shop, metal shop, and digital media studio along with a digital fabrication shop (CNC routers and laser cutters), a 3D printing studio, a digital textiles lab, and a sewing studio. Open Works offers 110 individual micro-studios (7’x7’ work spaces) for operating a small business, coworking, designing, assembling, and finishing projects. Learn to bend cold and hot steel rod using various holding fixtures and jigs.
This is the first in a series of 3 classes that focuses on different operations of the Oxy-Acetylene torch, including, bending, welding, and cutting.

Now in its 10th year, the EnterpRISE pitch competition has supported 78 startups, awarded $149,250 in cash investments, and supported the creation of over 50 jobs. Participating companies reported aggregate revenue of $3,010,053 and 96 jobs created within 6 months of completing the contest. But it's not just money -- each year, we offer business workshops, shop classes, and 12 months of free membership at Open Works, one of the largest makerspaces in the United States!
