Jews United for Justice Jews United for Justice organizes the Jewish communities of DC, Maryland, and Virginia to create a more just region.

With our partners, we build power to dismantle economic inequality, racism, antisemitism, and other tools of oppression. Jews United for Justice advances economic, racial, and social justice in the Maryland, DC, and Virginia region by educating and mobilizing our local Jewish communities to action. We move our region closer to equity and justice by advancing issue-based campaigns that make real, immediate, and concrete improvements in people’s lives and build the power of working-class and poor communities of color. Through these campaigns we develop leaders, build our Jewish grassroots community, shift the consciousness of our community, and build the collective power needed to undo systemic racism and inequality.

Every year at the Heschel Vision Awards, Jews United for Justice honors individuals and organizations who follow in the footsteps of Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel z”l (1907–1972) and beloved JUFJ leader Elissa Froman z”l (1983–2013), combining deep moral commitments with meaningful activism. Join us Sunday, October 18, at 5:00 PM at the University of Maryland, College Park, or on Zoom to celebrate this year’s inspiring honorees, recognize the impact of our JUFJ leaders, and build community together.

In order to close the gap and raise the money we need to fully fund the services Marylanders rely on, our leaders must tax wealthy corporations and people making over $1 million per year. That's how we'll fund our state's future. 🌈
