If we learned only one thing Sunday, it’s that JUFJers take ping pong SERIOUSLY.

When JUFJ planned our Ping Pong Social we thought it would be filled with casual fun, noshing, and schmoozing. But you all showed up to COMPETE. Not only were we impressed with your ping pong skills, but we even had a ping pong champion.

Thanks to the Jewish Museum of Maryland for hosting us and thanks to everyone who came out and celebrated our work with us!

We are proud to join We Are CASA and other partners this morning for the People’s Signing Press Conference as we celebrate the passage of critical immigrant justice legislation, including the Data Privacy Act and the Community Trust Act! These wins are the result of persistent collective organizing and a shared dedication to protecting immigrant communities here in Maryland.

JUFJ believes deeply in the need for rest. From now until Labor Day, our staff will be signing off early on Fridays to relax and spend time with loved ones. We’ll be back at work after Shabbat!

This week, JUFJ and our partners organized a care economy rally, followed by councilmember visits urging DC Council to protect pay for early childhood educators, paid family and medical leave, and affordable childcare.

We’re closing today at 3:00 PM and all of tomorrow for the Jewish holiday of Shavuot, and will be closed on Monday for Memorial Day. We might not be up all night studying Torah, but we will probably have a slice of cheesecake. Or two. Or three. Or eighteen.
