It’s graduation season!!! Did you know we have a scholarship for students?
We are delighted when anyone decides to further their education, but we are particularly pleased to be able to award some financial assistance in this endeavor to a deserving student from our own Linover community in the amount of $750. Please read the following guidelines carefully. If you do indeed qualify, an independent and confidential committee will review your application and you will be notified of the results. Thank you and good luck.
Guidelines:
1. Applicants must live within the Linover Improvement Association boundaries encompassed by Belair Road, I-695, Lillian Holt Drive, Kenwood Avenue, and Fullerton Avenue and also including Glade Avenue, Delight Avenue, Belhaven Drive, Fullerton Heights Avenue, Virginia Avenue, and the 5100 block of Trumps Mill Road.
2. Applicant’s household must be current member of the Linover Improvement Association and must have been paid members for 2025 AND 2026.
3. Applicants may be graduating from any public or private high school. Applicants must be attending an accredited college, university, or institute of higher-education as a full-time student following high-school graduation.
4. Applicant, if chosen to receive the scholarship, must present a letter of acceptance from the college or university to the association by August 1st of the graduating year otherwise, the scholarship will be awarded to the next qualifying applicant. After receiving a letter of acceptance from a college, university, or higher-education institute we will forward the institute a check for $750 to be used for tuition, books, room and board, or other lab fees.
5. Applicants will be judged by people who do not live in the Linover area, and all applications information will be confidential and will not be made available to anyone except the judges.
6. Applicants will be judged based on scholastic ability, drive, neighborhood and community involvement, and extracurricular activities. Financial need will NOT be a determining factor; therefore, family financial history data will not be necessary.
