ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Chaewon Song

Chaewon joined Make Studio in December of 2024. Since then, she’s been singing melodies throughout the studio and making beautiful colored pencil pieces!

Chris Schallhorn recently led a workshop at Baltimore Recnparks’ Farring-Baybrook Recreation Center, with the theme “Shapes”.

Participants used Chris’s tried-and-true methods to create their artwork: trace shapes, see if another shape fits inside, color each shape a different color- optionally, add dark black outlines for a high contrast style!

BEHIND THE SCENES: With Shane Hargest

Here’s a glimpse into Shane’s artistic practice!

Shane focuses on abstraction to match his capabilities and make art that is true to him! He is a big fan of large wood and canvases, and primarily uses acrylic paint or paint markers (but will also experiment with colored pencils).
