Financial exploitation isn’t always easy to recognize, especially when it involves someone you know, love, or trust. Sometimes, the warning signs are subtle, and it may take time to realize that something isn’t right.

Through our Money Minders program, we want you to know that financial exploitation can happen to anyone, and you are not alone. Understanding the warning signs is an important first step toward protecting yourself, your finances, and your independence.

📄 We’ve attached a two-page resource to help you recognize what financial exploitation can look like, identify potential warning signs, and understand when it may be time to ask for help.

Please take a moment to read it, save it for future reference, and share it with someone who may benefit from this information. These conversations aren’t always easy, but having the information and knowing where to turn can make a difference.

📢 Holiday Closure Announcement

In observance of Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples’ Day, all Spectrum Generations locations will be closed tomorrow, 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟐, with the exception of Bridges Home & Community Services 𝐀𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬, 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐍.

All other programs and services at our community centers will be closed.

Caring for someone with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia can be overwhelming. To help, Spectrum Generations (the Central Maine Area Agency on Aging) worked with partner organizations and caregivers in the community to develop a free guidebook to help Maine caregivers feel more informed, prepared, and empowered as they navigate dementia care. Adapted with permission from a guide created by the State of Connecticut, this resource provides information about what to expect, key action steps throughout the caregiving journey, available supports and services, helpful checklists, and space for notes.

Help deliver nutritious meals and provide a friendly connection to neighbors in need.

📋 Medicare (SHIP) Volunteers – All Locations
Help community members navigate Medicare and make informed decisions about their health coverage.
