This week, we're celebrating National Community Health Worker Awareness Week 🎉

Created and led by NACHW since 2023, this week is dedicated to celebrating and collaborating with Community Health Workers (CHWs) and their allies across the country, and to raising awareness of the incredible diversity of the CHW profession, workforce, and movement.

At MPCA, we're proud to stand alongside the CHWs across Maine who serve as trusted messengers, connectors, and advocates, bridging the gap between healthcare systems and the communities they serve. Their work builds trust, breaks down barriers to care, and strengthens health care from the ground up.

You can probably tell by these pictures, but we had way too much fun at 's family fun day! We loved getting to join the celebration- the whole event was full of community spirit. It's always such a joy to see families come together, connect, and celebrate health and wellness in such a fun, welcoming way.

We're grateful for the chance once again to be part of it and to support an organization that does so much for their community. Thank you to everyone who came out, and a huge thank-you to the team at Sacopee Valley Health Center for putting together such a memorable day. We can't wait for the next one! 💙

Last week, our team had the honor of visiting Nasson Health Care with our compassion caravan for a tour of their facility. We're incredibly grateful to Lisa and Carter for taking the time to welcome us and share the great work happening on the ground.

We were especially struck by the strength of their dental program- a team of 4 dentists and 4 EFDAs working together to expand access to oral health care in their community. It's a powerful example of the dedication community health centers bring to serving Maine's patients every day.

Thank you to the entire Nasson team for your hospitality and for the vital work you do. We're so proud to celebrate partners like you who make quality care possible across our state.
