✍️ New this fall: Creative Writing in German (A2+ and up)!

Learning a language isn't just about grammar drills. It's about finding your own voice. In this 4-week online workshop, you'll use your German to write short stories, poems, and personal pieces, guided by instructor Barbara Stauch.

Writing creatively is one of the best ways to make new vocabulary and grammar truly your own. Each session mixes fun writing prompts with supportive feedback, so you'll grow in confidence with every piece you write.

💻 Live on Zoom, so you can join from home or anywhere
🕕 Tuesdays, 6:30–8:00 pm
📅 4 sessions, October 20 – November 10
🎯 For learners at A2 level and above

Whether you've always wanted to write or just want a fresh, creative way to practice, this workshop is for you. No perfect German required, just curiosity and a willingness to play with words.

📚 Introducing our A1/A2 Buchklub, only at Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta!

Reading a whole book in German might sound like something for advanced learners, but our Buchklub proves otherwise. This guided reading club is designed especially for learners at the upper A1 through A2 level, and it's a format you won't find anywhere else in Atlanta.

Together with instructor Helena Karasova, you'll read a German book chapter by chapter, pick up new vocabulary in context, and practice speaking as you talk through the story in a relaxed, encouraging group.

📍 In person at Peachtree Center, Downtown Atlanta
🕕 Tuesdays, 6:00–8:00 pm
📅 4 sessions, October 20 – November 10

If you've completed most of A1 and want a fun, low-pressure way to put your German to work, this is for you. Grab a coffee, grab the book, and join us!

Yesterday, the Alliance Française d'Atlanta and the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta enjoyed a wonderful conversation with Matthieu Clouvel Gervaiseau, Consul General of France in Atlanta (Consulate General of France in Atlanta). We were very inspired by his enthusiasm for language and culture and his interest in our work here in the community. Merci et vielen Dank!

What a wonderful Day of German Unity celebration last night at Ventanas in Downtown Atlanta! Oliver Bientzle was welcomed as the new Consul General of Germany in Atlanta (German Consulate General in Atlanta), and celebrated alongside the German Bundestag delegation led by Kai Whittaker, MdB. Our office and program partner, the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta, was there too, represented by Angelika Otte.

The evening drew a full house from across Atlanta's international community, including our friends from the Consulate General of France. We were also delighted to find that the new Consul General speaks excellent French. Herzlichen Glückwunsch, and félicitations!
