We’re proud to share that ARC’s 2024 Community Centered Design Program was featured in The Kresge Foundation’s 2026 report, The Art of Civic Possibility: How Culture Connects People, Place and Community.

The report highlights our partnership with nonprofit Village Skatepark ATL (villageskateparkatl) to explore mobility justice through art and urban planning. Planners, organizers, artists, and community partners convened in Atlanta's Bankhead neighborhood, working together on a creative wayfinding system to elevate the Skatepark’s work.

It's an honor to be included alongside inspiring initiatives from Oakland, Cleveland, and Boston. A huge thank you to Margy Waller and The Kresge Foundation for recognizing this work—and to Village Skatepark ATL and everyone who helped make the project possible!

🎨 ARC’s Community-Centered Design class is elevating the important work by South River Watershed Alliance through art and collaboration.

Planners, artists, and government staff in the class came together to co-design prototypes for Build a Better Blacksville, The Ke'Nekt, and South River Watershed Alliance. The prototypes will become a reality for South River Watershed Alliance and will serve to elevate the visibility of the river headwaters in Lakewood Heights.

During the second phase of the program (pictured here), the class spent three days doing a site visit, conducting research, and prototyping to execute a community engagement festival on October 25.
