🌎 Happy World Environment Day! ♻️

♶This week in our materials series, we're talking about Plastic #4 (LDPE), a soft, flexible plastic used in items like food storage containers, packaging materials and foam-like products.

A few tips when bringing Plastic #4 to CHaRM:
♻️Keep materials clean and dry
♻️ Look for the #4 resin code on rigid plastics
♻️ Place stretchy plastics in the Stretchy Plastic collection container, even if they're labeled #4

♻️ We’re continuing our series of posts focusing on materials accepted at CHaRM. The next few weeks we will be focusing on recycling plastics. First up: Plastics #1 and #2 (HDPE), two of the most valuable and commonly recycled plastics.

♳Think water bottles, berry containers, milk jugs and detergent bottles. When visiting CHaRM, you’ll sort these items in “Plasticville” with help from our signage and staff.

A few quick reminders:
✔️ Clean and dry plastics only
✔️ Keep the caps on
✔️ Check the resin code when possible

🚩Stay tuned as we continue breaking down different plastic types and how to recycle them properly at CHaRM!

💚 That’s a wrap on the 2025-26 Live Thrive Corporate + Community Challenge! ♻️

The challenge kicked off in November 2025 around America Recycles Day and continued through Earth Day this April. This incredible six-month community effort brought together more than 1,200 participants who helped divert more than 174,000 pounds of materials from landfills and waterways across metro Atlanta.

Since launching in 2021, the challenge has collected more than 724,000 pounds of materials through the power of collaboration, education and action.

A huge THANK YOU to all of our participating corporations and community groups for making this year such a success:
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, City of Brookhaven, Georgia, Chick-fil-A, Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED, Inc., Cox Enterprises, Delta Air Lines, Livable Buckhead, The Home Depot Foundation, Monarch Private Capital, Novelis, Printpack, Trinity Presbyterian, City of Woodstock, GA.

👀 Be on the lookout later this summer for sign-ups and details for the next Corporate + Community Challenge! 💚
