We will prioritize the investment of ourselves and our community through intentional partnerships thus creating a physical healing space appropriate for development advancement. Please help us support Kenia Bacho, a beloved community member, who is currently facing a very difficult situation after being detained by ICE.

❤️ We have some good news: Kenia has been granted bond, but we now need to raise the funds necessary to bring her home to her family, friends, and community.

Kenia has touched the lives of so many through her kindness, strength, and unwavering support of others. Now it is our turn to show up for her.

In addition to the bond, there are ongoing legal fees, immigration-related expenses, court hearings, and other essential costs associated with her case. Every contribution, no matter the amount, brings us one step closer to securing her release and helping her through this challenging time.

Poder Unides continues to evolve as we respond to the needs of our communities across Georgia. Our updated brochure reflects our growing work, expanded programs, and ongoing commitment to transgender, gender-diverse, immigrant, and LGBTQIA+ communities.

From leadership development and advocacy to mutual aid, harm reduction, community education, and cultural empowerment, our work is rooted in the belief that those most impacted by injustice must be at the center of creating solutions.

Through our programs and community initiatives, we are building pathways to safety, opportunity, healing, and self-determination while amplifying the voices of those too often left out of decision-making spaces.

As we continue growing, we remain committed to:

June 2 – International S*x Workers’ Day ❤️‍🔥

Today we honor and uplift s*x workers — those still with us and those we have lost. We remember ancestors, trailblazers, and community members like Lusia Riveria “La Chingona,” Miss Cookie, and all who did what they had to do to survive, care for community, and move through a world that too often denied dignity and protection.

International S*x Workers’ Day traces back to June 2, 1975, when more than 100 s*x workers occupied Saint-Nizier Church in Lyon, France, protesting police violence, criminalization, and unsafe conditions. Their action became a powerful symbol of resistance and a global call for rights, safety, and dignity.

S*x workers have always existed, organized, loved, resisted, and deserved safety, respect, and self-determination.

We honor the labor, the resilience, and the lives behind the stigma. May we continue fighting for justice, bodily autonomy, harm reduction, and communities where no one is disposable.

We remember. We honor. We continue.
