Ahead of our final community paint day, we want to clarify our intentions and acknowledge our positionality in the struggles this project touches on. As an organization working from the U.S. in collaboration with Addam Yekutieli, an Israeli artist, we are working with tensions that cannot be ignored. This project emerged from conversations around hyper-militarization in the U.S. as it is interconnected with the Israeli state’s methods of oppression within occupied Palestine, and how we navigate these realities with varying degrees of privilege. While the project in its nature presents messaging that is fragmented and up to interpretation, we want to make it abundantly clear that we are working from a stance that is pro-Palestine, anti-Zionist, anti-apartheid, and anti-genocide. We stand with Palestine and its people; we are not free until we are all free. 🇵🇸
