The Grocery Spot ATL Mutual Aid Grocery Store

08/20/2026

🥦 We are incredibly grateful to CBS News Atlanta for taking the time to visit The Grocery Spot, listen to our community, and share our story.

Seeing this work on the news is humbling. But the most important part of this story is not the exposure.

It is what happens next.

❤️ The Grocery Spot needs your help to keep our doors open.

Every week, our neighbors walk through these doors and choose the groceries they need with dignity, completely free of charge. The demand for food assistance continues to grow, and while much of the food we distribute is donated, keeping the lights on, the refrigerators running, our trucks moving, and our doors open takes real financial support.

🍎 As this CBS report showed, The Grocery Spot distributes roughly 150,000 pounds of food every week. This resource matters, and we cannot sustain it without the community behind us.

If you are seeing this because you follow us, because CBS shared our story, or because someone sent you this video, please consider making a donation today.

Even $5 can help us feed a family for a week. Every donation matters.

🙏 Thank you to CBS News Atlanta for giving our neighbors a platform to tell this story, to the Atlanta Community Food Bank and our food partners who help keep our shelves stocked, to every volunteer who gives their time, and to every person who has donated to keep this mission alive.

Now we are asking everyone watching to help us turn this moment of visibility into something lasting.

Help us keep the doors open. Help us keep the shelves stocked. Help us continue serving Atlanta with dignity.

Atlanta, we need you.

🚨 WE DESPERATELY NEED OUR COMMUNITY’S HELP 🚨

Times are hard for everyone right now, and we know there are so many people and organizations asking for help. But right now, The Grocery Spot truly needs our community to rally around us.

Our shelves are empty.
Our refrigerators are empty.
Our freezers are empty.

At the same time, we are receiving more requests for food than ever before.

Families are struggling to afford groceries. Parents are skipping meals so their children can eat. Seniors on fixed incomes are trying to choose between food, medicine, utilities, and rent.

We WANT to help. But we cannot serve our community without the donations that keep The Grocery Spot stocked and our doors open.

❤️ Please consider making a donation.
❤️ Ask your church to support The Grocery Spot.
❤️ Ask your employer or place of business to sponsor food.
❤️ Share our need with your neighborhood or community group.
❤️ Start a food or fundraising drive.

We need more than a one-time donation — we need a community that will stand behind The Grocery Spot so we can continue being here for families who have nowhere else to turn.

Every $5, $10, $25 or $100 helps us put food back on those empty shelves.

🥫 PLEASE HELP US FILL THE SHELVES AND KEEP THE GROCERY SPOT OPEN.

❤️ THE GROCERY SPOT NEEDS OUR COMMUNITY RIGHT NOW.

The Grocery Spot is a community-based program, supported by the community.

We don’t have large churches or major organizations funding our food purchases. We rely on everyday people who believe that families in our community should have access to food.

And right now, the truth is simple:

Without donations, we will have to close our doors.

I hate even typing those words, but I also want to be completely transparent about where we are.

We have more than 30,000 followers. Imagine what would happen if everyone who saw this gave just $1.

$1 may not feel like much.

But 30,000 people giving $1 could completely change where we are right now.

❤️ CAN YOU GIVE $1 TO HELP KEEP THE GROCERY SPOT OPEN?

And if donating isn’t possible, you can still help us tremendously.

LIKE this post. SHARE it. REPOST it. COMMENT on it.

Anything you can do to help boost this post and get it in front of more people matters.

This pantry belongs to the community. We need the community to help us keep the doors open.

❤️ WE MAY HAVE TO CLOSE NEXT WEEK. ❤️

Sadly, as of right now, The Grocery Spot will most likely be closed next week because we simply do not have enough funds to purchase the food we need.

But we can stop this from happening.

We only need to raise $300 to purchase food and keep our doors open next week.

If you can give even $1, $5, or $10, it adds up quickly. And if you aren’t able to donate, you can still make a huge difference by liking and sharing this post so more people see it.

❤️ CAN 300 PEOPLE GIVE JUST $1? ❤️

We are SO close!

The Grocery Spot still needs to raise $300 in order to stay fully open all next week.

Instead of asking a few people to give a lot, we’re asking 300 people to give just $1.

That’s it. ONE DOLLAR.

If 300 people reading this give $1, we can reach our goal and continue providing groceries to families in our community next week.

Every single dollar matters. ❤️

❤️ $1 CAN HELP FEED OUR COMMUNITY ❤️

What if everyone who saw this post gave just $1 to The Grocery Spot?

Donations have slowed, but the number of families needing food has not.

Your $1 may seem small—but when our community comes together, those dollars add up quickly and help us keep food on our shelves.

Give $1. Share this post. Ask a friend to give $1.

❤️ AN IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM THE GROCERY SPOT ❤️

We know many of you have noticed that it has become much harder to get a shopping slot at The Grocery Spot.

Unfortunately, we have had to significantly cut the number of slots we offer each week.

Every day, we receive calls, emails, and messages asking why there are no appointments available. We completely understand the frustration, but we simply do not have the manpower to respond to every individual message.

The reason for the decrease is simple: donations are down, and we no longer have the funds to purchase the amount of food we were purchasing.

We cannot give out food that we cannot afford to put on the shelves.

The only way we can increase the number of shopping slots again is if donations increase. Every donation allows us to purchase more food and serve more families.

If you are able to help us rebuild our food budget, please consider donating:

Please share this post so we can reach people who may be able to help. We desperately want to serve more families—we simply need the resources to do it.

❤️ WE HAVE TO CUT OUR FOOD PANTRY SPOTS ALMOST IN HALF ❤️

This is a post we truly wish we didn’t have to make.

Over the next few weeks, The Grocery Spot will be cutting the number of available shopping spots almost in half.

We are receiving more messages than we can possibly respond to from families asking why they can’t get an appointment or why there aren’t more spots available.

The answer is heartbreaking but simple:

We do not have enough food.

Donations have decreased significantly, and we simply cannot continue purchasing the amount of food needed to serve the same number of families we have been serving.

But this does NOT have to be permanent.

❤️ If donations begin coming back in, we can buy more food.
❤️ More food means more shopping spots.
❤️ More shopping spots mean more families fed.

Even a $5 or $10 donation matters when hundreds of people come through our doors needing groceries.

If you have ever wondered whether your small donation really makes a difference at The Grocery Spot — it absolutely does.

We don’t want to turn families away.
We don’t want to cut our spots.
We don’t want parents wondering how they’re going to feed their children.

We just need the food and the funding to keep saying YES.

Please help us keep our shelves stocked and our doors open to as many families as possible. ❤️
