💙 A child in Alaska needs a safe place. Could it be your home?

🎓💙 Five graduates. Three new DFS therapeutic foster homes. One incredible reason to celebrate!

Last Thursday, our Denali Family Services foster care community gathered at Mirror Lake for our Fall Therapeutic Foster Parent Graduation Potluck, where we celebrated five graduates representing three new DFS therapeutic foster homes!

Becoming a Therapeutic Foster Parent takes commitment, compassion, and a willingness to open your home and heart to a young person who may need extra support to heal, grow, and thrive. These graduates completed the training and preparation needed to take that next step—and we couldn't be more excited to welcome them to the DFS foster family.

These three new homes mean more opportunities for Alaska youth with behavioral health needs to receive care in a safe, supportive family setting and remain connected to their communities.

Congratulations to our newest Therapeutic Foster Parents, and thank you to all of our experienced TFPs and DFS team members who continue to support and encourage the families doing this important work. 💙

Denali Family Services is hiring Behavioral Health Associates (BHAs) in Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley! This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with kids and teens and wants to break into the behavioral health field — no behavioral health degree required.

BHAs work directly with youth ages 3–20, helping them develop coping, communication, social, and daily living skills through structured activities in homes, schools, and community settings. You’ll gain valuable, hands-on experience while making a difference for Alaska’s kids and families. 💜
