Denali Family Services is attending the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) Mat-Su Regional Meeting in Palmer today.

It’s encouraging to see behavioral health providers, community partners, and stakeholders coming together to strengthen proposals, share ideas, and identify solutions to the behavioral health challenges facing Alaskans.

Collaboration like this helps build a stronger, more responsive system of care for youth, families, and communities across our state.

We’re grateful to be part of the conversation and look forward to working alongside our partners to create lasting, positive change.

💜 Opening this Summer: Denali Rack – Wasilla!

Denali Family Services is proud to expand our free community resource store to the Mat-Su Valley with Denali Rack – Wasilla. This space is being created to support foster, adoptive, and biological families who may need a little extra help with everyday essentials for the youth in their care.

Families can access clothing, toiletries, towels, blankets, youth grooming kits, and other basic necessities — all at no cost. We believe every child deserves to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.

We’re currently accepting donations of new and gently used youth clothing, hygiene products, blankets, towels, and grooming supplies.

Donations can be dropped off at our Wasilla office front desk. Please call ahead at (907) 376-3275 before dropping off items.

Together, we can help support local youth and families when they need it most. 💙

Enrollment is now open for Denali Explorers at Denali Family Services — a specialized day program for children ages 3–5 who may be experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges in preschool, daycare, or community settings.

Through structured therapeutic support, skill-building activities, and trauma-informed care, Denali Explorers helps young children strengthen emotional regulation, positive peer interactions, communication, and resilience in a safe and supportive environment.

Our team works closely with families to help children succeed while remaining connected to their home and community.

Denali Explorers is designed for youth who may qualify for behavioral health services due to emotional or behavioral difficulties that impact daily functioning at home, school, or in the community.

Eligible children must qualify for Medicaid and meet clinical eligibility requirements for behavioral health services.

Services may include care coordination, family support, counseling, behavioral health services, and skill development through our comprehensive wraparound model of care.

If your child is struggling with behaviors related to anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation, or other behavioral health concerns, we encourage families to contact us to learn more about qualifications and the intake process.

Call Denali Family Services at (907) 274-8281 or email [email protected] to speak with our team and learn more about whether Denali Explorers may be a good fit for your child.

You don’t have to have all the answers to make a life-changing difference. Therapeutic foster care is built on the idea that no one does this alone—every foster parent is supported by a professional team, ongoing training, and real-time guidance to help youth with behavioral health needs succeed at home and in their communities.

Right now in Anchorage and the Mat-Su, youth are waiting for safe, stable homes where they can heal, grow, and stay connected to their communities. Through the fostercarealaska.org campaign with AK Child & Family and Denali Family Services, you can learn what it truly means to step into this role—with financial support, clinical backing, and a team that walks alongside you every step of the way.

If you’ve ever considered fostering, this is your moment to explore what’s possible.
