🎉 Meet TEDxAnchorage Speaker, Dr. Charity Carmody!
Dr. Charity Carmody is a fourth-generation Alaskan, a dedicated leader, and a passionate advocate for children and families. She is the proud mother of four grown children and grandmother to four grandchildren. Charity’s lifelong dedication to service and leadership has earned her recognition as a Champion for Children Awardee from the Alaska Children’s Trust, a Top 40 Under 40 honoree, and an Athena Society inductee for her outstanding contributions to her community.
Charity holds a Doctorate in Law and Policy from Northeastern University and earned her BA and MBA from Alaska Pacific University, where she now shares her expertise as an adjunct business professor. Her published research on the Family First Prevention Services Act reflects her commitment to evidence-based change, and she recently released her first book, Go Ahead Girl, a no-nonsense guide to empowering women to build the lives they truly want.
As the owner of Carmody Insurance Agency in Anchorage, Charity balances entrepreneurship with her passion for community impact. She co-founded Beacon Hill, Safe Families for Children Alaska, and the Heart Gallery of Alaska, initiatives that have touched countless lives across the state. Today, she serves as the founder and Executive Director of the Alaska Impact Alliance, a statewide coalition of prevention practitioners working together to strengthen families and communities. Through her consulting company, Beautiful Step Consulting, Charity provides strategic guidance and implementation expertise to organizations ready to make a lasting difference.
Whether she’s teaching, leading, writing, or advocating, Charity Carmody brings a relentless drive to create meaningful change for the people and causes she cares about.
