One of the great benefits of coming to our meetings is the program. Our program committee of Joanne and Karen have been hard at work planning for us! Here are some things to look forward to:

September: Julie Carter will be talking about submitting your creations for fair entries, and we will have mini workshops by several members. This allows for some fun learning and conversation time with members we have not seen over the summer months!

October: Gather Textiles' Kim McCollum, Jaimie Hurlburt and Mila Zenith will be joining us by Zoom to talk about their "Marguerite Porter Davidson project"!

November: Paul Henry of Paul Henry Kilts (and more) will be joining us by Zoom! While Paul may be known for his kilts, he is also a wealth of knowledge in historical linen and wool production, spinning, dyeing, and more!

December: We celebrate the holiday seasons with a potluck and "weftover" sale!

January: Warp weighted loom program and demonstration by our members, Pam and Rebecca. Created for the historical village at the 3 Barons Renaissance Fair, Pam and Rebecca will report on their research and outcomes from this ancient style of weaving.

This and more is coming for our AWSG 2026-27 guild year!

"I'd love to take the class, but I'm not an experienced weaver..."

If that's you, let me reassure you: you do not need to be an advanced weaver to enjoy this workshop. Beginners are welcome!

If you can set up (or bring) a pre-threaded loom and weave a simple plain weave, you're ready to join us. This class isn't about perfection, complicated patterns, or getting everything "right." It's about experimenting, playing with color and texture, and discovering your own creative voice.

One of the best things about this style of weaving is that every project is uniquely beautiful. You'll leave with a handwoven hat and, hopefully, a little more confidence in your creative instincts.

So if you've been waiting for permission to try something new, this is it.

Come learn, explore, and create with us. I'd love to have you there.

As we near the beginning of our guild season, be sure to watch the website for early workshops popping up! (Hint: there are two posted already.) The committees have been hard at work over the summer, preparing fun opportunities for us all.
