10 years ago today, Momentum Collective Inc. was born. We started off with a handful of youth and have grown to now serve close to 300 youth annually across the city of Alexandria. The goal was simple; make sure that every youth in the city could have access to high-quality arts programs by removing cost as a barrier, because we so wholeheartedly believe in the power of the arts to transform lives and communities. While the goal was simple, the realities of operating a new nonprofit with limited financial resources made the work daunting. But we were undeterred, and through sheer perseverance, sacrifice, and the amazing support of the Alexandria community that has rallied around us, we’ve made it thus far. As we look ahead to the next 10 years, we hope we can continue to count on your support as we grow the scale and scope of our operations to deepen the impact we have on the city, its youth, and the arts community.
