Every tiny stretch, every kitten nap, every little dream is under the watchful care of one of our wonderful moms, Goldberry. Some heroes wear capes—others curl up nearby and make sure everyone is safe, warm, and loved 🥰

This week at KSC…we are celebrating National Adopt A Shelter Cat Month! We hope you will too! 🥳🐈

We have orange cats, tabby cats, torti cats, tuxedo cats, black cats, and gray cats. We have cats aged from 3 weeks to 14 years. We have tall cats and short cats. We have playful cats, we have chill out on your lap cats. We even have wobbly cats. Pretty much any color, size, or purrsonality you might want in a cat, we have!

But for all the different kinds of cats at KSC, they all have one thing in common: every one of our cats wants, and deserves, a forever home.

Our cats have come to us from far and near. There is precious Georgia from Roatan, dear Potbelly from St. Thomas, Goldberry and her kittens from King George County, Coconut Tart from Baltimore, Lily from Alexandria, Shadow and Spunky from Bowie, Samantha, Sofia and Onyx from Falls Church.

They all have a story to tell: Dear little Geneva, she came was found as a stray with ruined eyes and pregnant. Her eyes were destroyed by infections and then she lost her four kittens. She is snuggly, just wanting reassuring cuddles. Astrid is one of our CH kitties. She adores people but is picky about her feline friends. Sassy Marietta, came as a small kitten, with misshapen back legs and feet. She learned to get around and is enjoying life with her foster friends.

Each cat is special; some are shy, some are outgoing, but they all just want to find their families.

We know many have our Facebook followers have full houses and you may think there isn’t anything you can do to help celebrate with us this month – but there is! If you share our stories and our cat posts, and encourage your friends to do the same, the right person may find the right cat to complete their family!

Every cat that is adopted means another cat we can rescue; another life saved!

It's Adoption Update Friday, and we're checking in on dear Natasha.

Her mom tells us that our girl was a little shy when she first arrived, but with patience, time, and a proper introduction, she and her new roommate Ollie have become fast friends ❤️🐾

Now they're happily spending their days together—including making sure they get their daily exercise, as you can see in the video below.

A huge thank you to their mom for taking the time to introduce them the right way. Slow introductions help cats feel safe, build trust, and create the foundation for wonderful friendships like this one. We're so happy to see Natasha and Ollie thriving together!
