Did you know that over 1 billion people worldwide are currently living with a mental health disorder?

In this new visual report by HRRC’s Gabrielle Meyers, MPP highlights how widespread these conditions are, but she also reveals a hidden hurdle: the out-of-pocket cost of care. While most countries keep the individual costs for inpatient care, outpatient care, and prescription medication relatively manageable, therapy remains a massive financial luxury.

State-directed payments have grown rapidly, often inflating costs without improving quality. If approved, this rule will ensure that taxpayer dollars are focused on patient care rather than inefficient financing schemes.

HRRC supports CMS’s efforts to cap excessive payments and redirect resources toward sustainable, high‑quality healthcare.
