At Home in Alexandria At Home in Alexandria (AHA) helps older adults age safely and independently in the homes and community they love.

Through volunteer-driven transportation, social programs, and practical support, AHA fosters connection, dignity. AHA is a non-profit membership organization that provides the social, emotional and practical support older adults need to "age in community" and in the home they love. In addition to social and educational events, group outings, and activity-centered clubs, AHA volunteers provide tran

Reminder: THIS Sunday at 2pm, AHA is hosting Chris Palmer to discuss his book Achieving a Good Death: A Practical Guide to the End of Life. This event is OPEN TO ALL. Chris will share insights on dying well as well as tips to reduce discomfort and fear around the topics of death and dying. There will be lots of time for Q&As and discussion. Chris is an author, speaker, and end-of-life activist. He is a trained hospice volunteer and the founder and director of an ongoing aging, death, and dying group for the Bethesda Metro Area Village. He also serves as vice chair of the board of Montgomery Hospice & Prince George’s Hospice, vice president of the board of the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Maryland & Environs, and as a member of the Advisory Council for the Maryland Office of Cemetery Oversight.
