AGA has reached an exciting milestone in awarding the 20,000th CGFM credential.

Congratulations to Hector Castellanos, CGFM, Senior Analyst in EY’s Government & Infrastructure sector, who earned the certification while advancing his own career and expertise in government financial management.

As federal agencies close out FY26 and begin a new fiscal year, AGA wants to recognize the extraordinary work being done across government agencies this reporting season. Preparing AFRs and PARs is no small undertaking — these reports tell the story of how agencies serve the public, manage resources, and deliver results. They are a cornerstone of transparency and accountability in government.

Through AGA’s Certificate of Excellence in Accountability Reporting (CEAR) Program, we recognize outstanding federal reporting practices and celebrate agencies that go above and beyond to make complex information accessible, meaningful and actionable for citizens.

Our FY25 participants demonstrated some of the core tenets of good reporting (as noted by our CEAR reviewers):
