Let's Play

Let's Play We want kids in the Philippines to play music. Our approach is simple: we find schools with good music teachers and give them instruments. Then they do the rest.

We collaborate with the Department of Education to identify which schools to participate. It all started with a simple idea. What if kids could learn to play music if we gave them instruments and access to youtube. To test the idea we went to Malabon National High School in March 2017. We picked 20 students, gave them 10 guitars and a laptop with video tutorials from justinguitar.com. During their

school holiday they practiced 4 hours a day for 5 weeks and what they achieved was amazing. Since then we have given them a lot more instruments and expanded the programme to more schools. We are not a charity in the sense of giving free handouts. We provide these kids with the chance to develop a skill and unlock a little bit of their potential. They do most of the work. How far they will go is up to them. We just give them enough tools to get started.

Check out this amazing version of Love of My Life by Queen!
A few weeks ago, nearly 400 Let’s Play students from Bohol came together for an incredible musical performance.

To the teachers, principals, parents, LGUs, DepEd leaders, donors, volunteers, and community members — this doesn’t happen without you. It takes patience, commitment and strong leadership to put this kind of event together.

Let’s Play is built on the belief that every child deserves the chance to discover and nurture their talent. To see it come to life at this scale is really something else.

Thank you everyone for your contribution to this project.

Last Friday, I traveled to Bohol and witnessed something truly special. Nearly 400 students from Let’s Play schools came together — rondalla players, ukulele players, and dancers — performing in perfect unison. It wasn’t just a concert. It was a celebration of talent, discipline, and what can happen when young people are given the opportunity to learn, practice, and believe in themselves. 🎉❤️

The arrangements were beautiful. The performance was powerful. And the pride on the faces of the students and teachers said everything.
Moments like this remind us that music does more than create harmony on stage — it builds confidence, community, and hope for the future.
A big thank you to the leaders of DepEd for organising the event, the LGU and leaders in the community for opening doors, parents and volunteers for supporting, teachers for training the students and writing the arrangements - and of course the students. You guys are amazing.

I left Bohol deeply inspired, and I can’t wait to come back next year and see what they do next. 🇵🇭🎶✨

Yesterday was one of those days that reminds me exactly why I started Let’s Play. I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Quiot Elementary School in Cebu to see our donated instruments in action.
Hearing the students perform was a beautiful testament to their hard work and talent. A massive thank you to Teacher Michelle for her tireless dedication to these young musicians, and to the Principal for fostering such a supportive environment for the arts.
It truly takes a village—thank you to the parents and all our supporters who help keep the music playing. My heart is full! 🪕🎉❤️

🎉 One Year Ago Today… 🎶
Today marks the 1st anniversary of the day we officially set the GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for the Largest Rondalla Ensemble! 💫
554 students from 18 schools came together in Cebu, united by strings, rhythm, and purpose — and created something truly historic. ✨
Relive the moment we achieved the record in our youtube video. It already has more than half a million views and captures the heart and soul of the day: https://youtu.be/yIHm7ijZuhw

To every child who practiced for months, every teacher who guided, every supporter who believed — you are officially amazing! 💖🎵
