If you are new to tech, here is something no one really says out loud.

At some point, you will break something in production.

It might be a bug, a wrong deployment, or a system issue. And yes, it can feel scary.

But this does not mean you are bad at your job.

What matters most is what you do next. Do you communicate the issue? Do you help fix it? Do you learn from it?

Even senior developers go through this. It is part of real-world experience.

Mistakes happen. Growth happens after.

Summer break is the perfect time to finally start that framework you’ve been eyeing.

You do not need to spend hours every day. Even 30 minutes is enough to make real progress when you stay consistent.

𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗮 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁. 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀. 𝗧𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀.

Those small daily efforts add up faster than you think.

Your future self will thank you for starting now.

But think of it this way. It is just another production environment.

You have spent years learning, building, and preparing. Now it is time to apply what you know, adapt as you go, and keep improving along the way.

You do not have to be perfect before you start. You just have to be willing to take that step forward.

Do not be afraid to deploy. You were built for this.

After graduation, most people think the next step is corporate work.

But that is not the only option.

Freelancing is something many students are starting to explore, especially in tech. You get to work on real projects, learn how to deal with clients, and build your own portfolio.

Of course, it is not easy at the start. Finding clients can be challenging and income is not always consistent.

But over time, the experience you gain can open a lot of opportunities.

It is not about choosing the “right” path. It is about finding what works for you.

We’ve all been there.

Intern life comes with bugs, errors, and moments where nothing seems to work the way it should. It can feel frustrating, especially when you are just starting out.

But every bug you encounter is part of the learning process. It teaches you how to think, how to troubleshoot, and how to become a better developer over time.

Why this framework? Why this structure? Why this approach?

Even a quick 15-minute conversation with your mentor about the company’s tech stack can give you a clearer picture of how everything connects. That context helps you learn faster and contribute better.

That is how you move from just being an intern to becoming someone teams want to keep.

If you feel like doing nothing this summer… that is okay.

You just went through years of stress, deadlines, thesis work, and exams. Of course your brain feels tired.

Sometimes we feel guilty for resting, like we should always be doing something productive. But the truth is, rest is part of the process.

When you give yourself time to slow down, you come back clearer, more focused, and ready to learn again.

At the same time, we all know the reality. With the current economic situation in the Philippines, we cannot stay paused forever. There will come a time to stand up again, take action, and move forward.

So if your plan right now is to rest, sleep, or just take things easy, that is valid.
Pause when you need to. Recover fully. Then laban ulit, one step at a time.

You are not being lazy. You are recovering, and preparing for what’s next.

One of our core missions is simple. We advocate for you.

Whether you are an intern or a fresh graduate, you deserve opportunities that respect your time, your skills, and your potential. That includes fair compensation, proper guidance, and a work environment where you can actually grow.

Too often, students and early-career professionals are expected to settle for less just to gain experience. But growth should never come at the cost of being undervalued.

One of the most uncomfortable moments for many fresh graduates happens during interviews when the question comes up.

“What is your expected salary?”

It seems simple, but without preparation, it can easily catch candidates off guard.

Some respond by being too flexible, hoping it increases their chances. Others undervalue themselves due to lack of information.

In reality, this question is not meant to trap you. It is an opportunity to show that you understand your value and have done your research.

Entry-level salaries vary depending on role, skills, and company context. Knowing a reasonable range allows you to answer with clarity and confidence.

For early-career professionals, this is an important skill to develop. Not just for the first job, but for long-term career growth.

Preparation does not guarantee a higher offer every time, but it helps you make more informed decisions.
