HOW WE STARTED

Tamaraw Volunteers or TAMVOL is a university-wide volunteer organization in Far Eastern University, and the very first student-based volunteer organization on the campus initiated by a group of students, formerly named as Young Volunteers of Today (YVOT), with the aim to inculcate among the youth the importance of volunteerism and community service in helping the nation. TAMVOL pio

neered a significant amount of community service projects to the FEU community (GK Pabahay, Tamaraw Counting, Kanlungan sa ERMA, Kalsadaskwela, Volunteer's Week, FEU Green Convergence, Dumagat Immersion, LAPIS, Pasko ng PAgbabahagi, Tamaraw Famine Converge.) and become partner organization of various organizations like Habitat for Humanity, Museong Pambata, Gawad Kalinga, UNICEF, Clean Air, Hands On Manila, World Vision PH. MAKING AN IMPACT

It has also produced service-oriented leaders, several awardees of the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines, founders of non-government organizations, remarkable student leaders, full-time workers in the field of community service and nation-building. Currently celebrating a decade of its unending passion for volunteerism and nation-building.

On this day, we honor the courage of Filipino and Allied soldiers who stood their ground in Bataan during World War II, despite overwhelming odds. After the Fall of Bataan on April 9, 1942, thousands were forced into what would later be known as the Bataan Death Marchโ€”a grueling journey marked by exhaustion, hunger, and suffering. Yet even in the face of hardship, many endured with quiet strength and unwavering courage.

This day reminds us that their bravery was not measured in a single moment, but across a long and painful path. Every step they took reflected sacrifice. Every mile carried the weight of defending a nation they refused to abandon.

Today, we remember that valor is not always seen in grand victories. Sometimes, it is found in resilienceโ€”in standing firm, in continuing forward, and in holding on to hope even when the road feels endless.

As we commemorate Araw ng Kagitingan, may we carry their courage into our own lives. May their sacrifices remind us to face challenges with strength, remain steadfast in adversity, and continue striving for a better future for our country.

Easter Sunday is one of the most important events in the New Testament, as this day celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ after His crucifixion.

The Resurrection is a reminder of how Jesus Christ saved us from our sins, and of His great love and sacrifice for us; it also marks the end of the 40-day Lenten season, a time of fasting, reflection, and penance.

More than anything, itโ€™s a chance for us to reconnect with our loved ones and spend time with the people who truly matter in our lives or even do an act of kindness as a sign of honoring the greatest sacrifice Jesus made for us.

Today, we are reminded that our hearts are meant to love, just how GOD's love is freely given to us. It represents renewal, redemption, and salvation that it is never too late to change for what is right and better.

Throughout this silence we still wait, hope, and hold close to our hearts healing and becoming.

This Black Saturday, we dwell in the stillness of the vigil, honoring the ultimate sacrifice of love. It is a day of sacred waiting, marking transition between the pain of the cross and the promise of redemption.

In this heavy silence, we reflect on the great sacrifice made for humanity, drawing strength from a grace that remains unshaken even in the deepest shadows. Yet, within this sorrow, a quiet hope stirs like seeds beneath the earth, signaling the approaching victory of life over death.

We stand at the threshold of the tomb with hearts grounded by faith, waiting for the coming light. Though the world remains veiled in darkness for now, we hold on to the promise of a resurrection that will soon bring light and renewal.

Today, we remain mere, solemn, and vulnerable as we sit with the silence to reflect. In a world that is ever changing, this day gives us an opportunity to refresh our thoughts and align it like how our faith speaks to us.
