The 102nd Squadron have always believed in empowering the youth through education and awareness.

It is through this principle that the Squadron has always stood by the PCG in its youth development and humanitarian service missions.

Last Wednesday, the 102nd Squadron turned over 100 sets of school supplies to the Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command (CGHRMC) for its gift-giving project for the Aeta Magbukun Community residing in Barangay Bangkal, Abucay, Bataan.

This reinforces the PCG iCARE (Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response, and Enforcement) Program.

These donations were made possible through the generosity of its partner, Aplaya Laiya Corp. and Kalaiyaan Coast.

The CGHRMCโ€™s ICARE program in Bataan included free medical consultations, distribution of hygiene kits, footwear, clothes, and toys, and interactive games.

The project was spearheaded by VADM ALLEN J DALANGIN PCG, Acting Commander of CGHRMC, and COMMO CHRISTINE PAULINE BERGAร‘O PCG, Deputy Commander of CGHRMC.

The Aeta Magbukun Tribe Councilโ€™s chieftain, Mrs. Rosita Sison, expressed the tribeโ€™s heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the generosity of the PCG and the PCGA to their community. This was highlighted by a traditional dance performance that showcased the rich cultural heritage of the tribe.

A total of 52 blood bags were successfully donated by students of Don Bosco Technological Institute (DBTI), 102nd Squadron, Philippine National Police, and the Philippine Army.

Blood donation is beneficial and crucial for patients undergoing surgery, coping with trauma, managing chronic illnesses, and battling cancer. This essential procedure serves as a lifeline, sustaining and saving lives.

For donors, donating blood reduces risks of heart diseases, stimulates new red blood cell production, maintains healthy iron levels, detect health issues, and enhance psychological well being.

The 102nd Squadron conveys our sincerest and deepest condolences to the family and Squadron members of our dearly departed Capt Galza.

Our hearts broke when we learned of the tragic news of his passing. Heโ€™s been a very good friend and comrade long before the 102nd and 107th Squadrons were formed. He served bravely as part of the Task Force Malasakit at the height of COVID-19 pandemic, rescued and retrieved so many of our fellowmen, instrumental in protecting the marine environment, leading in creating more QRT members through relevant and stringent trainings. He is one of the true unsung heroes of the PCGA.

He passed while showing others the beauty of the marine environment.

As he recently said to one of our Division Directors -- "kung sa dagat ang buhay mo, sa dagat ka din uuwi". We just didn't realize, it will be this early.

Taps Capt Galza, sir! You have our admiration, respect, and love up to the end.

๐€ ๐‡๐ž๐ซ๐จ ๐ก๐š๐ฌ ๐ ๐จ๐ง๐ž ๐‡๐จ๐ฆ๐ž.

The Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary is deeply saddened by the untimely passing of ๐€๐”๐— ๐‚๐€๐๐“ ๐†๐„๐‘๐€๐‹๐ƒ ๐† ๐†๐€๐‹๐™๐€ ๐๐‚๐†๐€, Director Auxiliary Squadron of the 107th CGAS.

More than an officer, we are grieving the loss of a great man who has spent a good part of his journey toeing the line between life and death in the name of service and compassion.

Capt Galza is leading one of the Rescue Squadrons of CGADNCR-CL. He has rescued and recovered countless fellowmen during his time in the PCGA, often rushing to the side of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to lead SAR operations regardless of the time, location, or weather situation.

When duty called, he was always there.
Striving.
Leading.
Rescuing.
Silently, behind the scenes.

He was among the handful of PCGA operatives who braved the unseen enemy that was COVID-19 pandemic at the height of its onslaught.

He was tireless in protecting the marine environment, diving with fellow PCGA and marine environmentalists in planting, monitoring, and enhancing coral reefs.

He was a tough trainer; glowering, yelling, and drilling his students with the principles and practice of Search, Rescue, Retrieval, and Life Support. He produced hundreds of capable Rescuers and Disaster Response Group (DRG) members for CGADNCR-CL -- all of whom respected his wisdom and loved him like a father.

He kept on doing what he did best, always by the sea.

He lived for it.

Sought joy and brotherhood in it.

And right at the very end, he was still on it.

He was showing diving students the beauty of the marine environment when he was called Home.

What better epitome of a perfect maritime volunteer and marine environmental warrior there is than our dearly departed, Capt Galza?

Our unsung hero has gone Home. Fare well, sir.

Taps. Taps. Taps.

We have celebrated today the life and times of AUX LCDR IMELDA QUIBAN PCGA+, not just as a mother, a wife, a friend, and a professional.

Beyond all these was a person who chose to serve our motherland through her membership with the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary.

AUX LCDR QUIBAN PCGA was one of the pioneer members of the 102nd Squadron when it was formed nine years ago in Manila. She dedicated years serving our fellowmen bravely, professionally, and always, with joy.

And in honor of her dedication, the 102nd Squadron held a PCGA Memorial Service as a tribute to the good officer and friend that is Lcdr Imelda.

The Folding of the Flag is a tradition in the uniformed service to honor the memory and mark the significance of a personโ€™s contribution to his or her country. At its core, the burial flag stands for dignity, service, and the enduring respect of a grateful nation.

This flag is presented to the family of the departed as a symbol of national respect. The flag carries both personal memory and collective honor.

Thank you for your service, maโ€™am. We are honored to have served alongside you.

Taps. Taps. Taps.

A total of 217 personnel received medical and dental services, free medicines, and health awareness lectures.

The activity aims to enhance the health, wellness, and overall morale of the PCG personnel by bringing medical services closer to them.
