A significant chapter in Rizalian history unfolded during the Central Visayas Regional Assembly with the creation of the Negros Island Region (NIR) Region and the delineation of the Central Visayas Region.

Led by Supreme Commander Sir Dr. Emmanuel F. Calairo, KGCR, the ceremony formally established two distinct regions to further strengthen the administration, coordination, and growth of the Knights of Rizal in their respective areas of responsibility.

This landmark development reflects the Order's continuing commitment to organizational excellence, effective leadership, and the sustained promotion of the teachings and ideals of Dr. Josรฉ Rizal throughout the Visayas.

Congratulations to the officers and members of the newly organized Negros Island Region and the redefined Central Visayas Region as they embark on a new chapter of service and Rizalian brotherhood.

Rizalian leaders and members from across the Central Visayas Region convened for the Central Visayas Regional Assembly under the theme, โ€œRizalism at 75: Sustaining the Legacy, Inspiring the World.โ€

The assembly served as a meaningful venue for fellowship, learning, and reflection on the enduring legacy of Dr. Josรฉ Rizal. Highlights of the program included chapter reports, updates from the Supreme Council, and insightful plenary discussions focused on the continued relevance of Rizalism in today's society.

Among the notable presentations was the discussion of Deputy Supreme Commander Sir Joel V. Tuplano, KGOR, on โ€œRevisiting the Knights of Rizal Charter on its 75th Charter Day,โ€ which revisited the Order's rich history and emphasized its continuing mission in preserving Rizal's ideals for future generations.

The delegates also received updates from Supreme Commander Sir Dr. Emmanuel F. Calairo, KGCR, who shared the direction, priorities, and initiatives of the Supreme Council for Rizalian Year 2026โ€“2027. His message inspired the membership to remain steadfast in promoting patriotism, civic responsibility, and the values espoused by the national hero.

As the Knights of Rizal celebrate 75 years of chartered existence, the assembly reaffirmed the Order's commitment to sustaining Rizal's legacy and inspiring the world through exemplary Rizalian leadership and service.

In solemn tribute to our National Hero, Dr. Josรฉ P. Rizal, the Knights of Rizal conducted a Wreath-Laying Ceremony at the Josรฉ Rizal Monument in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
Led by Sir Dr. Emmanuel F. Calairo, KGCR, Supreme Commander, together with members of the Supreme Council, Regional Commander of Central Visayas and Negros, Chapter Commanders, and Rizalian brothers, the ceremony served as a meaningful expression of our enduring commitment to uphold and promote the ideals, teachings, and legacy of Rizal.

As we honor his memory, we renew our pledge to live by the values of patriotism, integrity, civic virtue, and service to the nation that he so passionately espoused.

An evening of fellowship and Rizalian camaraderie.

Following our arrival in Dumaguete City on July 10, 2026, Sir Dr. Emmanuel F. Calairo, KGCR, Supreme Commander, accompanied by the Supreme Council and delegation, was honored with a warm dinner gathering at the residence of Sir Judge Rafael Cresencio C. Tan.

The evening was filled with meaningful conversations, friendship, and a shared commitment to the ideals of Dr. Josรฉ Rizal. Gatherings such as these strengthen the bonds of brotherhood that unite Rizalians across the nation.

Upon our arrival on July 10, 2026, Sir Dr. Emmanuel F. Calairo, KGCR, Supreme Commander of the Knights of Rizal, together with the members of the Supreme Council and delegation, were graciously welcomed by Sir Judge Rafael Cresencio C. Tan.

Our hosts treated us to a memorable tour of the historic Silliman University, one of the country's premier educational institutions. The visit provided an enriching glimpse into the universityโ€™s rich heritage, academic excellence, and beautiful campus grounds.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Sir Judge Rafael Cresencio Tan for his warm hospitality and for making our first day in Dumaguete both meaningful and unforgettable.

As we honor the rich legacy of leadership within our Order, we proudly look back at the visionary leaders who have guided the Knights of Rizal to greater heights.

Today, we feature an eminent legal mind and dedicated brother, Sir Reynato S. Puno Sr., KGCR, who served as our Supreme Commander from June 19, 2016, to June 18, 2018.

โ€‹Sir Reynato S. Puno Sr.โ€™s brand of leadership was deeply anchored on strong intellectual and legal excellence. He earned his Bachelor of Laws from the University of the Philippines Diliman, before pursuing further postgraduate studies abroad. He obtained his Masters of Laws from both Southern Methodist University in Dallas and the University of California, Berkeley, and eventually solidified his extensive legal expertise by earning a Doctor of Judicial Science from the University of Illinois.
โ€‹
โ€‹During his two-year stewardship, he spearheaded vital structural reforms and administrative milestones for the Order. He successfully presented the 2018 Amended By-Laws of the KOR and Election Rules to modernize institutional governance, and he proactively started the resolution of the long-standing real property assessments of the International Headquarters with the City of Manila. His term was also highlighted by high fraternal recognition, notably awarding then-President Rodrigo Duterte with the Knight Grand Cross of Rizal.

โ€‹Furthermore, his tenure saw a strong push for organizational expansion and youth empowerment. He oversaw the continuous growth of chapters both locally and overseas, and made history by facilitating the very first International Assembly held in the Mindanao region, specifically in Davao and Tagum.

To maintain organizational integrity, he strictly enforced measures ensuring members adhered to the rules and policies of the KOR, while simultaneously championing the future of the Order by supporting the development of the National Rizal Youth Leadership Institute (NRYLI).

โ€‹Let us continue to remember and draw inspiration from his dedicated service, ensuring that the flame of Rizalian ideals remains alive in everything we do!

We honor Sir Elihu A. Ybaรฑez, KGCR, who served as Supreme Commander of the Knights of Rizal from June 19, 2018, to November 30, 2021. Sir Elihu brings a wealth of knowledge with academic backgrounds in Political Science, Law, and National Security Administration.

Served the judiciary and ultimately became Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals, before ascending to the highest post, he dedicated his service as Deputy Chapter Commander of the Narra Chapter, setting a foundation of dedication to the Order's mission.

โ€‹During his dynamic tenure, Sir Elihu significantly expanded the reach of the Order by revitalizing and chartering numerous new chapters, both domestically and internationally. He is also credited with publishing the essential KOR coffee table book, "Not Everything in Me Shall Die," which masterfully illustrates the history and present stand of the Order. His leadership saw the recruitment of prominent figures from the government and judiciary, further strengthening the organization.

โ€‹Under Sir Elihu's forward-thinking leadership, the Knights of Rizal navigated the pandemic with continuous activities through virtual meetings, conferences, and programs. He spearheaded the first-ever virtual commemorations for Charter Day, Rizal's birth anniversary, and NRYLI, ensuring the flame of Rizalian values burned brightly even in isolation. Furthermore, he intensified humanitarian assistance through the inspiring "Kalingang Caballero" initiative.

โ€‹We celebrate Sir Elihu's visionary leadership and dedicated service to the Order. Join us in recognizing his contributions. Let's look to our past to inspire our future.
