Fonterra's organic milk payout has hit a record high due to strong global demand. The co-op is expanding its North Island organic milk collection, and looking for more organic dairy farmers in the South Island to supply their forthcoming processing plant.

🍾Do the retail salespeople know what the BioGro logo looks like - and what it stands for? Our staff have received some interesting responses when asking for organic w**e, with some retailers pointing to vegan w**es, or the sustainable w**egrowing label.

✅ This is a great opportunity to have a conversation about organics, show them the BioGro label, and talk about what it means: caring for the soil, no nasty sprays or residues.

BioGro is proud to be a sponsor of the Young Organic Growers Alliance (YOGA), who hosted a breakfast at Parliament last week to celebrate the UN Year of the Woman Farmer.

Among the speakers were Barbara Kuriger MP and Nicola Grigg MP, the High Commissioner of India to New Zealand Muanpuii Saiawi, and BioGro GM Tania Thomas.

Speakers from YOGA were Taysha Sangster and Nadia Pavlovich, who had attended the Organic Women's Farmers' Conference in India in June, organised by IFOAM Organics Asia.

To help support our operators, BioGro has launched a monthly Export Training Webinar: Exporting to MPI OOAP Markets, delivered by our experienced BioGro Export Team.

Designed for both new and established exporters, this practical and engaging webinar will provide valuable insights into the MPI Official Organic Assurance Programme (OOAP) and the requirements for exporting certified organic products to key international markets. Participants will gain a clearer understanding of the export certification process, compliance obligations, and the steps required to successfully access OOAP markets.

The webinar focuses on the major OOAP export markets, including the European Union, Great Britain, the United States, Taiwan and Japan, and includes an opportunity to ask questions directly to the BioGro Export Team. Whether you are preparing to export for the first time or looking to refresh your knowledge, this session is an excellent opportunity to build your confidence and capability in organic exporting.

The next webinar will be held THIS FRIDAY 28 August at 2.30pm will run online via Teams for approximately 45 minutes. Future sessions will be held on the last Friday of each month.
